LIJSL Club Refunds List
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostDoes Ronkonkoma pay for their own fields, or do they play on Town or school fields? Does Ronkonkoma pay staff and coaches? Did Ronkonkoma pay for carding? Did they pay for tournaments that are not being refunded such as Jeff Cup? Ronkonkoma will not be able to refund their EDP teams as EDP is not giving refunds, but credits for all events. ENY soccer is not giving refunds for carding. Let's see how they respond to those teams

But you are wrong about NYPL and EDP. The club is planning on refunding them too if they get canceled. The only mitigating factor is that some spring EDP games have been played so the decision on whether it will be a 100% refund for all teams or something just below that for the teams that did get some games in hasn't been decided yet.
The club can get away with this because of how it charges separately for fall and spring seasons. Where on the LIJSL side the club charges the same exact fee for fall and spring, with NYPL and EDP the fall registration fees are higher than the spring fees to account for the fact that NYPL and EDP charge for the entire year up front. The higher fall fee doesn't quite cover all the leagues up front costs, but it's close, so the losses incurred by returning the spring registration fees aren't huge.
Overall Ronkonkoma is looking at a net loss of a few thousand dollars if all the leagues end up canceling. It still hurts because it's a small club, but it's not the end of the world.
