Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThat sucks if that’s true, was hoping for a more local schedule if possible, oh well here come the $500 weekends with hotels, meals and travel. USSDA is a joke pulling the stunt they did surprising everyone, the poor CSA coaches had no clue totally blindsided them as many others as well.

Players are going to leave.
Baltimore players to Pipeline
SJEB players to PDA South
PA Classics players have three options.
CSA is basically playing in a VA league. Don’t see it working for them at all. So much travel for what?

Bat **** crazy travel.
Bordering on abusive to make kids travel 2-3 hour one way for games.
Laying out 4-10K in annual soccer expenses over 5-8 years fora 2-5K scholarship if your lucky.
A huge percent of the top level kids will remember their childhood as long car rides as much as the games.
This is not sustainable, even for people with the means to support it.
soccer clubs act like The Princeton Review or Kaplan SA test prep business for college soccer scholarships. What interest does the NCAA have in professional player development? The pro tier system will grow and should be compensated and retro-compensate independent clubs when a player is sold for a profit.

It’s true they’re kind of in no-mans land. Definitely too far for many at sjeb. Not really all that south to be called south. It’ll be interesting to see if they can draw especially after all this is over. Hope they do well though. No hate here.
