Why create another league vs USYS?

Looking for intelligent opinions from the club side. Not parents.

You're right, but the real question is, why so many leagues?

Simple fix to end this silly landscape.

Have a tiering system in each part of the state/region. For example, North NJ where clubs are within one hour of each other. Then you have a Central. Then you have a South. These divisions could have nearby on the border clubs in NY or PA if needed.

Tier one is for elite teams and players looking for long term goals such as college or professional levels.

Tier two would be for the next group. Players that have long term ambitions, aren't there yet but can improve here.

Tier three would be average EDP level teams without traveling three hours to play.

Tier four would be local travel teams like a MCYSA or NCSNJ.

Tier five would be for players looking for a bit more than Rec but not much of a commitment. Parents that just want to tell their coworkers that their kids play travel.

Then this one league that runs, yes one league for the whole country, lets call it Soccer4All, would govern states and tiers, mind you, qualified soccer people not money hungry scammers. These people would be in charge for states/regions and would do seasonal checks on clubs. Check on their board/owners, quality of staff, coaching education, licensing, training sessions. You name it. Everything. This way, you which clubs are legitimate and you get rid of the money scheming clubs.

And then, just maybe. We can make it as a country.

Imagine this in every state and region. Holy cow. Simplicity? You don't say.

This is just for youth soccer. We'll fix high school and college after this is approved.

    Who's in?

As long as all clubs and teams that are deserving are accepted in the “top” tier that sounds great. Otherwise its the same ol pay to play nonsense.

Yes. The governing body would be constructed of retired international coaches that would correct everything we're doing wrong here.

Why create another league? Because there are Clubs with ambitions who are locked out of top-tier leagues currently.

As long as leagues are run by Clubs who will run the league in their own best interests, there will always be an interest of another one.

Get Clubs out of the league-running business. Have them run by 3rd-parties with no vested interest in any Club, then you can have tiers.

Until then, it won't happen as the direction of the league is run by the Club members for the Club members' benefit, only.

Well said mate, as so many good clubs/teams are shut out just because other clubs (or I should say businesses) protect their turf at all costs. In a nutshell that’s the issue with the broken system here in the US. Biased actions by the clubs in control....

Isn't that pretty much what EDP and National League are minus the current DA and ECNL clubs?

Except top clubs don’t want to play crappy clubs.

Also clubs don’t want to share revenue from tournaments or supplemental training for the ‘top coaches’.

Name one club that should be in ECNL that isn't. One club that has shown they can produce very competitive teams across multiple age groups, that dominate their current league. I can't think of a single one...

There are dozens and dozens of current ecnl clubs that do not fit that criteria. Dominating the league across several age groups is not what the vast majority of ecnl clubs do. Not even close.

My kid plays in the league but be real.

                      Such is life.

You sound like the group in Europe trying to form their own UCL competition because Arsenal can't be bothered playing Club Brugge KV...when Club Brugge KV can give them a game.

So, you tier the system and not worry about who gets a "license". You stink, you go down. You are great, you move up. It sorts itself out quickly.

                          Oakwood, STA, FCV.

All have multiple teams that can beat 90% of the teams on the East Coast for ECNL. Other then PDA the other ECNL teams are having trouble with these teams at every age group.

                            What does this mean though?

No ECNL girls! No new league girls! What is left? Will be very water down after U13.

I would guess this is an attempt to keep everyone in EDP/USYS except for ECNL girls. The new league isn't even in this area so this is a consolidation attempt IMO. If all the former da clubs stayed in usys instead of joining somewhere else (talking about girls here), this is a win.
