Major League Soccer announced the launch of a new elite youth competition platform intended to provide year-round high-level matches for MLS club academy teams and non-MLS academy teams that previously participated in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy which ceased operations.
The new platform will provide elite competition against domestic and international teams. MLS is also evaluating expanding participation to include clubs beyond the former U.S. Soccer Development Academy, in addition to future potential competition opportunities for girls.

One thing is certain in youth soccer - it keeps chang. For now this is a good option for those clubs.

How is this a good thing? It’s a disaster.

NYSC, FCW, BWG, Met Oval, Sea Coast, Oakwood, Empire United, Cedar Stars Bergen, Beachside and Boston Bolts

Also realize this, these clubs want to continue a 10 month program and not allow HS soccer.

What would you expect when your top talent is easily picked off my rich MLS programs? Tough sledding for these clubs.

But if they can stay in MLS led league, it would be attractive for BS and OW players that want to test themselves versus pro academies.

It is a good thing in that USSF is no longer competing with youth associations that it is supposed to guide and govern. Now stay in our lane USSF.

Make no mistake, the MLS teams will not be playing many games against pay to play teams like OW and BS. The writing was on the wall this season with the tiered system. BS and OW are second class citizens. This new MLS league is the USSDA 2.0. That’s all it is.

You’re high as a kite. So you’re saying that BS and OW are now free for all players. Not happening. MLS teams are free and will continue to be. Non MLS teams need to ante up as before. USSDA 2.0.
