Originally posted by Unregistered View Postyes, the dozen or so NEPSAC schools deserve all of the glory. They represent about 0.01% of HS soccer players in New England and all post season awards should have been given only to them. No one outside of NEPSAC players can do anything. Get a grip man, there are 500 non-NEPSAC players for every NEPSAC player ..... surely a few of them can play, no?
With that said, about ten percent of the players on this list are from NEPSAC schools, and that's silly. It's not as though soccer talent is randomly scattered about. NEPSAC teams, especially the boarding schools (who aren't limited to players within a certain radius of their campuses), can recruit. And as a result, the top NEPSAC teams are simply operating on a different plane than the top MIAA teams. You'd know that if you had ever watched them. But even if you haven't, look at who's playing on the top club teams, compared to who's playing on the club that's one or two levels down. Look at who gets recruited at top colleges. Are all the top players in NEPSAC? Not at all, but it's way more than ten percent.

I bet the rivers coach isn’t a member of United Soccer Coaches association thus making his players ineligible for honors !

Originally posted by UnregisteredDepends on the school. There are kids in the public HS who stayed back somewhere along the way, but at certain private schools (Brooks, Milton, Bel Hill, Sebs), however, the repeat year is pretty common among athletes, at others (Middlesex, RL, Groton) less so. Then of course there are the NEPSAC schools that have post-grads--none of those are in the ISL, but many of the western MA, Conn, and NH boarding schools have that group.
