No one is trying to trick anyone into thinking they are going into Smithtown Kickers. SB Athletico Smithtown was a merger of some teams that left Village of the Branch with the Uruguayan Soccer Academy which is based out of CI as both groups used the same trainer. SB Athletico is separate from the Kickers program but because some of the teams are based out of the Smithtown area and the club president is from Smithtown, they maintain the town name. People may be getting confused thinking SB Athletico and Kickers are the same program due to the location and because the 2 clubs are friendly as some players play for both Kickers in LIJSL and SB Athletico in NYCSL. SB Athletico is not in competition with any clubs as it is not interested in profits. It's a small club that was formed mainly from people that hated "club politics" and it's sole intent is to provide a competitive soccer environment for the kids at minimum cost. The club and the president (a lot of times out of his own pocket) supports players and coaches and doesn't obligate any team to work with a particular trainer. Each team can choose its own trainer as long as the trainer is qualified and abides by the club's code of conduct.

Draper fired him after he had an emotional meltdown at a game.

Nobody knows. It has a meaning only for the club president.

I always thought it meant Stony Brook

Always thought "SB Athletico Smithtown" was just a mashup of the local clubs Stony Brook, Smithtown and Athletico FC
