Ok, so maybe it’s not razor thin this year, but the 17’s are looking strong.

Their U15s have scored two goals all year. Other teams aren't a whole lot better.

FSA is pretty terrible. Not a ton being taught there. Keep writing checks suckers

You forgot the ;) . At least that team has scored goals (21) while their competition has scored 44. Other teams haven't even racked up 10 goals all year.

They were never mighty might on the girls side. Solid but not a always dominator in girls soccer. Then they bought the S+ badge. They pushed out some S+ coaches and by now the S+ trained players have graduated out. FSA is not strong at fundamental skill development. They often rely on big fast kids at the early years to get wins. But as puberty starts to even out the competition, the lack of skills bites them in the azz. Thing is their boys teams (ECNL anyway) are solid. So the rest of the finger pointing goes the lack of caring by FSA management, If you care, you hire good staff.

If FSA was remotely decent CFC wouldn't have rosters of 22+ but families would rather take that risk then go to FSA.

Actually, next year is going to be a banner year for FSA, as S+ constinues to fade into history, coaches get settled, and OW's GDA program reliably pushes stronger players to FSA. Look for FSA girls' teams to do very well in ECNL play in 2019/20.

Revisionist. S+ was on the verge of losing their badge because they were so bad 4 or 5 years ago (they had a tough time even filling their rosters and paying bills at that time). The sale of the badge had a couple of contingencies that have haunted the new merged club since day 1. First, the S+ staff was retained as the ECNL coaches and 2.) half of the S+ players at that time (right down the middle, literally) were given spots on the new teams along with roughly half of FSA players and some outsiders. They are just as bad now as they were then (perhaps a tad worse). For the first year or two after the merger occurred, every age group had between 120-160 girls trying out. Poor coaching has continued and poor player selection and training have also continued on top of a putrid style of play (they never try to coach the kids to play sound soccer and allow them to keep booting it as they succumb to the pressure of losing less badly). Any way you look at it, they have great facilities and players keep coming out, but the results are the same as always if not worse. If it is not the coaches, I don't know what it could be. They need to turn that apple cart over and start from scratch!

Correct. It’s too late. Oakwood has pulled a few from their area. Some still travel past Farmington to play for CFC. They had their chance and blew it

There has never been 120-160 players at tryouts. Average has been 60-80 for years
