99% of what you post has nothing to do with your kid so let's not make that the litmus test for posting, please.
It is normally polite to ignore stupid questions. Where do you see 12 yos consistently playing with 17 yos?

2 is enough. That is per age group. How many NEFC Elite players do you actually think are going to be interested in doing double duty. At this point in the game anyone who wants to be on an ECNL team is on an ECNL team. The Stars need their players at this stage more than the NEFC players need the ECNL.

        2.12
        Discovery Players

A “Discovery Player” is a player that is not a full time member of the ECNL Club to which she is registered and is an exception to Rule 2.11 above.
A Discovery Player may appear on an active roster for a team of a non ECNL Club or a non ECNL Team of another ECNL Club.
In order to be considered a Discovery Player, a player must be explicitly designated as such on the ECNL Roster before such player participates in any ECNL Competition. Discovery Players are eligible to participate in all ECNL Competitions.

2.12.1.1 At the Under 14, Under-15, Under-16, and Under-17 age groups, each ECNL Team may have two (2) Discovery Players on their ECNL Roster at each age group.

        2.12.2.2
At the Under-18 age group, each ECNL Team may have four (4) Discovery
        Players on their ECNL Roster.
        2.12.3
Discovery Players may only play for the ECNL Team for which they are initially
rostered within the ECNL Season. Discovery Players are subject to Rule 2.6, and are
club-tied and team-tied for ECNL Competition during the ECNL Season.

        2.12.4
Discovery Players may come from any distance away from the ECNL Club.

Thank you for the advertisement. Now you will have a big line of top other non ecnl players knocking on your door because ecnl is the end of i t all. Seriously you didn't learn your lesson this past weekend? The top players from other clubs are already being recruited, exposed and with a lot soccer miles on their legs.
          BTW they are already discovered.

What this seems to mean is if you are on a Stars NPL team you could be a discovery player on the Breakers ECNL team.

              Nope

              Rule 1:
"A Discovery Player is a player that is not a member of an ECNL Member Club in any capacity."

You would appear to be wrong.

Yeah I agree. The handbook and rulebook don't exactly say the same thing but I suppose the rulebook outweighs the handbook

So just to be clear, IF a current ECNL player which is US Club soccer wanted to register with a USYS team could they.? According to USYS there is NO rules that keep an ECNL player from registering with them. They are seperate entities. So my understanding of a discovery player is a us club soccer registered player from a different non-ECNL team can be a discovery player for a Us club soccer ECNL team from a different club. Again that makes being a USYS registered player and a US Club soccer ECNL player not related in anyway and doesn't mean they are a discovery player at all.

Not sure if you are asking for Boys or Girls. This link is to the Boys ECNL. Page 23 has the information about Discovery players. I think it is almost verbatim to the girls info on Discovery Players.

Seems like a pretty big loophole. Especially since the last bullet point on the bottom of page 14 says Multiple Club Rostering is frowned upon.

What if a dp doesn't belong to any club and is only a dp for their local? Do they HAVE to be rostered to another non ecnl club?
