This is what we are looking at under the divide and screw up, and divide again program GW has us all following. Throughout history it has always been easier to destroy a thing than to build a thing. Only great men build something.

    OYSA

    Eastside
    Westside
    Rouge Valley
    Bend
    Eugene ?
Washington Timbers ?, don't think so.

    OPL

    FC
    Crossfire Oregon
    PCU
    OSA
    TUSC

The rest of the clubs really don't matter much

Welcome to the new look, what do you think?
***C will jump on the OYSA bandwagon for two reasons: 1) will be required of all Alliance clubs, 2) allows their teams to qualify for WYS State Cups without having to play PML in the spring.

This makes no sense at all. Why would TA go to OYSA? To avoid playing FCP?

Because Gavin said "make it so"

The Have's (TA) and the Have Not's.

I guess I'm moving to TA.

I have heard that CFC is also in negotiations to join the TA. That's a couple more State champions in the TA list. So how does this look?

              OYSA:

              Eastside
              Westside
              Rogue Valley(Medford)
              Bend
              EMFC(Eugene)
              Washington Timbers
              CFC(Salem)
              PCU

              OPL:

              FC
              Crossfire Oregon
              OSA
              THUSC

What about clubs like Bridlemile, Woodburn, any others? I would think they would be more inclined to go OYSA.

You are forgetting a key point. Yes, TA clubs will play OYSA. However, OYSA and Gavin cannot keep any TA club teams from also playing in OPL events. If Gavin tried then he would jeopardize the TA clubs' sanctioning under the Amateur Act, as well as USCS an USYSA Bylaws for membership players' rights to freedom of choice. After all, OYSA and USYSA threatened the OPC but withdrew after THUSC and WST entered teams in the OYSA State Cup.

The MLS doesn't have to abide by those bylaws, but it would look bad for the Timbers if they did not support all youth soccer programs. Pressure by the Timbers organization forced Gavin to go back to the OPC and try to convince clubs to return to OYSA. The OYSA BOD, as represented by Chuck Keers, could not reach agreement with Gavin's requests so Gavin changed positions and tried to keep OPC members from playing in OYSA events. Now that Keers is gone it looks like Gavin has to abide by the Timbers mandate to get things done. He will again face pressure from TA for those wishing to participate in one or both youth organizations.

Because Gavin and the Timbers now run the OYSA and they want more money from our kids to subsidize their DA program.

                    PCU isn't going anywhere...

Let's break this down, excluding non-Portland clubs. There will be lots of red and white playing every weekend in OYSA playing teams like Aloha.

                    OYSA:
                    Eastside
                    Westside
CFC (we'll go an hour south of Portland)
                    Washington

                    OPL:
                    THUSC
                    FCP
                    Crossfire (OSSA)
                    PCU

They are partnering with the Timbers on Delta Park. Do you really think they will piss them off and not go to the new league?

They also partnered with Nike for the Buckman fields.

Oregon Soccer is/will be the laughing stock of all youth sports because a bunch of over the hill soccer "experts" want to control everything. This split system is ridiculous and will only hurt the kids, regardless of what club you play for.

Blame Gavin and the Timbers. This would not be an issue if the Timbers were not so greedy.

                                Not The Timbers

Don't blame the Timbers, they had nothing to do with it. Blame Gavin he was the spear head of this when he was at Eastside United FC and just coaching the USL Timbers.
