Some towns aren't going to open their pools for the summer at all.

Kids have their own ball. They distance w/o a mask unless they're huddling with the coach. You think moms and dads are going to just turn they heads if the coach ignored all the rules around the kids (not to mention club and personal liability)? I'm not extreme in what I do to minimize putting myself at risk but it would probably raise my eyebrows if a coach just totally ignored all the social distancing rules at practice. So enforcement mechanisms in place or not, the events I've seen abide by the spirit of the guidelines.

Pipe dream. Be ready to complain. The teens don’t get it... not cool to wear the mask and have no idea what 6 ft is and no one is correcting it.

They have about 48 hours to come out with the "Safety Standards for Youth and Adult Amateur Sports Activities - Phase III, Step 1 (coming soon)"... otherwise I'm going with what was published in the re-opening plan back in May which was:

Phase III: Youth sports with games and tournaments (limited crowd sizes)

That's still on the mass.gov website as of right now. Go check it out yourself if you doubt it.

It's the law until they change it.

P.S. The 4 phase plan in MA is really a 7 phase plan... wicked smaaat by the Governator.

You better get your scrimmage in on Monday before Charlie’s noon press conference.

In Covid terms, May was several lifetimes ago

Just a heads up, the $600/wk Federal supplement ends July 31st. You may want to look for a job on Monday rather than running a U-little scrimmage.

RI is barely a state. MA is really run by Gov. Cuomo. No games for us until at least the spring.

Tell that to 21 yr old PSU student.
This will mutate to young folk after it kills all the old folk because aholes won’t wear masks.

This will go after kids...just a matter of time

You can move to RI or better yet Florida, where no restrictions in place.

Here is a link to the page you will find the updated guidance when it is published:
                            https://www.mass.gov/info-details/ex...ance-documents

The document you are looking for will be titled Safety Standards for Youth and Adult Amateur Sports Activities - Phase III, Step 1 (coming soon)
Correct but Phase 3 begins 7/6. So unless they plan on starting with Phase 3 step 23 then youth sports will resume in some capacity as of 7/6

Sorry hoss, Trump just signed an extension for the Federal UI benefit. Regardless, scrimmaging starts up Monday.

Stop with the doom and gloom. The reality is everyone will get the virus until/unless there is a vaccine. Masks, social distancing, and shutdowns was about. not overwhwelming the healthcare system. Consider it underwhelmed. Time to get back to something looking like more normal. Sure, keep wearing masks and don’t congregate in large groups if you’re nervous, but seeeiously, this shutdown has been way overdone.

Wait the 21 year old PSU who had unknown underlying health conditions which exasperated the COVID, that kid? It still remains the same. Children have a very low risk, like .04% risk if they don’t have any underlying health conditions. That percentage is just them having a reaction to the disease. Most kids under the age of 18 who get it don't have major reaction to the disease. There are very rare instances where children have inflammatory issues LIKELY due to covid but that is easily treatable.
