    Guess that town?

Our town program has term limits and plenty of checks and balances for checks written, etc. We also bring in outside volunteers (accountants) to audit the books every year. Goes to show that if our little rinky-dinky organization can manage something so simple there's no reason a supposedly more professional organization can't - unless the board doesn't want to. The whole board should be wiped out and filled with outsiders. It's the only way it will re-gain credibility.

If USYSA and Region 1 were to bring in all outsiders the people in charge would have no interest in keeping the organizations limping along. They would just fold it up and try to start something else. This isn't about the kids, folks. If it were, ODP, R1PL and the regional championships wouldn't be in the sad state they currently are.

Initially it was about building an entity and they do so very succesfully. However, they did not set up a government with standards and expectations. They did not establish necessary turnover rules and guides. Instead, power begot more power.

None of it is about the kids. No matter what anyone in the Youth Soccer Industry tells you. It is all corrupt. The competition and leagues that will , and have taken over the void left by Region 1 are not in it for your kids. Since the first check ever written beyond the scope of the volunteer ( which have their own corruption , in a different way ) , it has been a growing snowball with children being run over pushed by the hands of meddling adults .
