They have fury. The kids that want to play gda can play there as long as they have the bank account. There are only so many with the talent, time and dollars to want the gda. Some have one or two of that list but not that many have all three. One gda is probably enough.

Add in desire and no school sports and the player pool is not that large.

Word is from a club that is meeting with a current LISC staff member, who is looking for a new position. When club asked why staff member why they were leaving LISC, they confirmed that LISC was no longer going to partake in GDA and that their position would become defunct.

When club called LISC head honcho for a reference on staff member, head honcho confirmed what staff member had said about no longer playing in GDA and said they'd be making announcement within a week or so.

They are probably waiting until after the GDA showcase is over on Tuesday...would not be good PR to announce that during the event (and while families have travelled there).

PDA is supposedly pulling out from GDA. This is plausible as they were one of the founding members of ECNL and one of the few clubs that is carrying both. It may make sense that they decide to keep only one going forward.

Totally agree. I think Fury is doing a pretty decent job and did attract the majority of talent that is representative of what GDA is supposed to be. Of course there's still some very strong kids at EM, Susa, Alby ECNL and I'm sure others, but certainly not enough to field a 2nd competitive GDA club.

So if LISC is out, Empire should be out if they have any common sense, also rumors that PDA and Stars are out. What's left if that's all true? There's not really many other good clubs left to fill the gaps, and they'd be even more hesitant to join now. GAD may be the king elsewhere in the US but not in the North east.

NE is densely populated and has lots of interested players. If California is going to split off and do their own top league, why can't NE do the same? The huge costs of trying to have national leagues for youth soccer is not worth the time and energy for places like CA or NE. There are plenty of player to have a top regional league and so many NE players will attend NE colleges that it makes sense to do competitive youth soccer regionally here.

I was surprised to hear that, yes indeed, PDA will not be coming back to DA, according to a PDA source at their spring kickoff over the weekend. Same source said he had heard FC Stars may be gone too. If true, this is two HUGE hits. Maybe DA begs LISC and Empire to stay....lololololol
