Playing time?

So...not the OP. First year at new club, kid is U-little (U-10). Its only 2 games into the season but so far, she has gotten 18 mins playing time in the first game and 16 mins playing time in 2nd game. 11 kids on roster so not a huge team. Question is how long do you wait before you address this with the coach?

I assume they have 8 players on the field? Roster of 11 and she's only playing those minutes? Something is amiss. At that age she cant be that much worse than anyone else on the team and the only way she is going to get confidence and improve is to get PT. I would discuss with the coach and if the answer is not satisfactory I would walk. That's BS for 10 year old soccer.

You leave the team. It’s quite simple really, the coaches care more about winning then development

Talk to the coach.
If that doesn't yield results talk to the club and calmly demand your money back with the reasons why.
If that doesn't yield results feel free to get vocal.

Find a club that has good coaching, teaches fundamentals and treats all players equally. Earning PT should not become a thing until well into middle school and even then it should be meaningful time.

If you are not getting fairly equal playing time in middle school or past, then your kid is on the wrong team and you are just a team benefactor (without the write-off).

OW FSA ECNL BS CFC United, Those are all a little different than the middle of the road club/league. At the competitiveness of the above, there will not be equal playing time and it sucks. If you are there and your kid isnt getting play time, it is definitely a good idea to look around and see other places. There are so many.

On the other hand, if you are at a CJSA deal and its u10, then you should be getting significant minutes....

It is a super messy landscape to navigate for a parent. The poor kids have no real clue on how to gauge or internalize all these leagues.
