GDA is will struggle even more in FL with the extra age group added. FL girls want to play HS soccer. Nobody is leaving TBU to play for WFF.

DA will be gone from WFF after another season. It is a scam and a money grab with no capability of getting players to YNT or USWNT, never going to happen. Can't even get players placed in college. It was nice and shiny the 1st season, but eventually people saw through YY lies and empty promises.

There is a difference in AB and YY. AB gets girls placed on college teams, YY makes girls hate to play and quit the sport.

There are definetly players leaving TBU to play WFF GDA... They are Just CDL and USA league players! lol

TBU should have been awarded ECNL before WFF. WFF should never have been awarded a Girls DA and then IMG to have a Girls DA just to the south. Tampa pulls from a much more heavily populated circumference and will remain the preeminent soccer club for girls. The college recruiting numbers speak for themselves.

Was talking to a TBU girls ECNL Parent about this last night... I agree with most of this, but the real problem at TBU is that their boys club holds that circle jerk a little too tightly. Their buddies all get the run of the place, so good coaches leave because there is no way to advance. If your team gets good enough it gets taken and given to someone they are buddies with so they can parade around and pat themselves on the back. Many of the girls and their families feel like they are moving backwards.

You guys are perfectly mirroring what a large portion of American society has become: a bunch of losers unable to accept any personal responsibility. Instead, since misery loves company, you congregate and find solace in blaming someone or something else.

On the whole, TBU is a well run club with dedicated coaches and administrators who deeply care about the kids. Not every coach is great. But, by the same token, not every kid is talented enough to fulfill his/her parents dreams of giving them "D1" or "full ride" bragging rights. No amount of Mafia moaning or club hopping is going to change that, however, a large amount of self reflection just might. (no this is not AB or whoever else you will make a joke about; just a parent observing how losers behave when given free rein).

They should just put the entire girls program into KW hands. Her and the other coaches will otherwise always be ham-stringed by his mistakes, and stretching of the truth that has not only cause players to leave but many not to come.

Cut from the same cloth. All about the money. She's chasing quality players away too. She had 4 ties and 2 losses in Winter Showcase against lower tier competition. Players are quiting her teams too.

Anything associated with YY has to go. Otherwise you will keep getting the same thing. Poor results, crap quality soccer, more injuries and discouraged players that are not improving.

Remember she was fired from YNT coaching position.

Wff will only uptrend going forward. If wff is ever smart enough to expand south, they'll become top in state.

GDA and ECNL are apples and oranges, but in this case I think TBU was either smart or lucky or both to be the one with ECNL. Regardless of the issues they had with some coaches the past year, and regardless of the resume of the coaches WFF brought in, still ECNL is just the more appealing format, at least it appears so in Florida.

Exactly, seems the other way. Sure, WFF took a hit when converting from ECNL to DA and lost many players to TBU and even some to OC. They bring in coaches with US soccer experience and that attracts back some who left to OC, some TBU players for this year, as well as pretty much retaining most if not almost all the players.

Now they are loaded to bear, and a giant misfire. Atmosphere is miserable, many kids not enjoying it, perpetuating an every player for them self mindset during the games. So it does not surprise me if you see many players leave.

Indifferent teammates, coaches, and director, but increased time commitment and decreased results is not a formula for expansion. They need to figure that out before anyone worries about what TBU is or isn't doing right.

Prediction-- The era of player losing for wff is near it's end. Let's be real about things, There is no difference between a yy and an ab. The DA and ecnl rollout chaos drove people places. The directors aren't any better than one another. Neither is their dedication. However, the DA is the new staple. Fl soccer will/is going to progress. It's not yy anymore, it's what he brought to club. Tbu's better players start migrating over to DA not the other way around. Ecnl will further diminish, will become another npl. AB has run his ecnl into ground, the club knows it. Records and player development should improve in two years, not digress. He's lost good coaches, shows no commitment to improving, will lose good players going forward. Wff is in fine shape.

Say what you want about AB but our family has had a high quality experience with him. I shot him a two sentence e-mail asking him why TBU ECNL chose to play one ECNL showcase and not another.

AB replied within 48 hours with a page long, bulleted response about TBU's entire strategy for deciding what ECNL showcases that TBU participates in. Most of his response was based on TBU's strategy for maximizing TBU players to college coaches and included references to the geographic areas that college coaches predominantly come from for each showcase, the dates of the showcase relative to the seasonal commitments of college coaches, when the showcase falls on the calendar relative to ECNL Nationals, the trade-offs of travel costs relative to recruiting likelihood. I was stunned and impressed!

Then he was heavily involved in my daughter's college recruiting process; taking calls at all hours of the day, acting as a go-between with the college coach and our daughter, up to and including helping negotiate and accept the final "scholarship package" which was quite lucrative. The fact that he is currently a college coach and a DOC gives him a very fine tuned awareness of the recruiting process. And he is not the only person at TBU that works this hard on the college recruiting process - there are several. It is no coincidence that TBU has so many commits!

Seems pretty clear to me. What part don't you understand? The parents of the girl that recently joined our TBU team from WFF GDA pretty much said that word-for-word. In addition, they said that after several failed attempts by WFF to hire someone with connections to college coaches and a desire to assist with the recruiting process, there is still nobody at WFF that has a clue about college recruiting. They were told "Make a list of her top ten colleges and start e-mailing the coaches. Let us know if anyone responds."
