Harvard variable 188 how the student does in comparison to the average SAT math score at their high school. Harvard variable 189 the student wants to study Humanities because Harvard needs more Humanities gurus to teach its engineers. (It was in the article). When there are only 2,000 to be admitted out of 40,000 applicants then Harvard must have 200 variables in its equation.

The reality is there won't be but a couple of students from Florida who will be applying to Harvard who need worry about its admittance procedures. People are closely following the case to see how long private and public universities can continue using holistic factors such as race, household income and zip code in their admittance process. I had an admissions officer tell me he knows if the kid or parent wrote the essay. I told him that he can not because often the kids are smarter writers than the parents. Also the students are taught the writing process from the time they are in elementary school. They are to have a friend peer edit the rough draft and then make the final draft look perfect. They are taught to look up big words to use in an online thesaurus. They are taught to use "their voices" in their writing. Even professional writers or professors at research universities will have their work edited by other professionals before publishing. Students have English paper tutors and those applying to Harvard have paid essay advisors or writers. The parents and kids want the admissions process to be fair but it is a good reality check that nothing is fair about the college admittance process or life.

Besides, now it's almost a requirement to go to grad school for many professions. So go to a good school - doesn't have to be GREAT - get great grades and go to a top grad school. Even better if that good but not great school gives you tons of money so that you can afford grad school (or can afford to take out loans without already being $100K in the hole).

It is more of a game to get into the Big Four as a freshman and it starts in 8th grade. Take the right college prep classes, don’t take too many electives or be a teacher’s aid because they will reduce the GPA. Some of it is how the dice are rolled. Going to an urban public school and being ranked 15th in the class will beat out a student with a higher GPA and test score of a student ranked 50th at a top large A rated public school.

In women's socccer - USF hosts the War on I-4 in an all-out battle that will determine the regular season American Athletic Conference Champions. USF holds the advantage needing either a win or a tie to claim the title outright, and the home field advantage in The American tournament. The 7 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 26, will also be USF’s senior night and alumni night.
Many local girls play on these two teams and this game has big implications for who get's to go to the NCAA big dance. Should be a great showcase of local talent.

The American Athletic Conference postseason tournament held in Tampa begins on Halloween. If UCF beats Temple and then Memphis it could play USF again.
