Important question to ask all the DA parents:
How many games does a DA team play in a year????? 30 , 35 max sound about right? How do you guys expect these incredible non-rec players to really be high level with so little soccer being played in a year? Let’s say your son is the stud of the DA team and he starts & plays every single game. Great, he played 30 games which is still short compared to even pro’s. Now how about the super stud who comes off the bench,,,,, wow you really hit it out the park, congratulations when you add up all your minutes you played about 15 full games the whole year. I’d say your an American Football
Player! Isn’t that how many games they play? The truth is, the real REC players are those who don’t play the game enough because
    1. You been fooled that only DA’s are good
    2. You’re way behind the rest of the world in minutes on the field!!!! There’s a reason US soccer is not very good. Just look at the National team.

I’m sure the DA’s have great teams and players, but very few can compete outside the US playing an average of 3 games a month max. Then when a few go play in the Universities, they will play a max of 25 games in a year! Good luck going PRo with that Number. But that’s a another story
Don't blame the DA for their model. They stole it directly from the Professional European Academies. If you think the Europeans don't know anything about soccer then that's is your argument. For those that think the professional European clubs have the best training and competition then the DA is exactly right. Having a high training to game ratio has been an accepted component in the development of most of the top players in the world.

But no, go ahead. Have little Jimmy and Julie play 85 games a year and beat your chest on how great you are. Who cares if your kids break down physically and quit the sport as soon as they hit their teenage years. You'll still have all those great trophies and medals hanging on your walls to wax poetic about to your neighbors and coworkers.

It is not about my son, and I hesitate to mention because the ridicule it solicits makes it all the harder to make a logical point, but I can tell you he was invited two years in a row to audition (if that is the best term) for DA. Never went because it is geographically farther then we want to travel four days a week, and more importantly he plays another sport, and if he had to choose Soccer is probably the second. He is a 2004 so not sure if he could be accepted at this point. He would probably have to be a lot better than current roster players who have been in the DA systems for several years now, and he is probably not good enough to accomplish that. I am fairly certain he would have made it up until this year. Furthermore, he plays on a good 2003 FSPL Premier division team, and only one player on that team ever sought to play DA. That one player played DA two years ago and left because he was not a key player and received little playing time. On this FSPL team he is an occasional starter who receives about 50% playing time. There are 4-6 players on this team who are as good as many DA players. DA is the best youth soccer in Florida and a great option for many talented players. It does not in any way diminish DA to accept there are other good players and decent teams. It is Okay.

In most of these baiting strings, no one is logically pointing out anything. Typically starts of with some kind of slight aimed at soliciting an angry retort from some nimrod with thin skin. Hence, "DA, Sorry To Burst Your Bubble". Nothing in the title or ensuing post was logical.

Fact is, both programs have their virtues and their faults and each family should choose what is best for them.

Well, you are of course right about that. It is a shame the forum cannot be what it is intended, as it would be nice to have a place to exchange ideas and obtain information. Sad thing is it appears Florida is the only state where TS is used as a hate & trolling message board. Another embarrassment for our state. People around nation already laugh at how every trashy incident in the news seems to involve a situation in Florida.

Please don’t talk about European Acadamies and how we modelers after them. Ours are nothing like it. What a stupid comment, you would know this if you ever go over to real European academies

You have to look at the top tier at the better tournaments to see any kind of good soccer. It all looks the same when looking at the numerous fields at a tournament out of context. Just a bunch of teams playing.
can you imagine climbing a mountain expecting to see heaven and then just getting a view of a garbage dump? that's what it's like to head up the tiers of fysa sponsored soccer in florida. where in the fysa sponsored mountain to you get a view of something worth climbing for???

it's not about hating da or fysa. the problem lies deeper in this country. too many leagues, too many options, too much bs to look thru. if we simplified it to a true pro & relegation, player would flock to the top teams in each age group. but because you have teams that are the best in da, npl, ecnl, fslp, blah blah blah blah blah… you don't know who's really the best and who isn't. don't tell me this club or that club is the best because it's all a lie. each clubs have there best coaches and players should flock to coaches not clubs.

DA is the best road to the pros. Stop hating.
