You statement is either biased or somewhat misinformed. Talking from experience, D1 athletic scholarships are for 1 year and the coach reevaluates each player. You may get the same next year, you may get more or you may get less. While I don't know the exact statistical number, MANY transfer to other schools because the money changes for the better or for the worse. Take a look at the large list of transfers for soccer.
As for your D3 school comment, considering the very small percentage that will actually play professional (men or women), what point are you trying to make if someone chooses to go to UChicago, NYU, Emory, CalTech, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Vassar, Amherst or any high academic school that essentially guarantee's your kid a great future?
Playing for a top 10 D1 program is one thing but lets not get too carried away with the D3 comparison. Especially when the merit or need scholarship can't be taken away unless you break the code of conduct/ethics rules.

Grades are often given as the excuse and sometimes those excuses are valid (you still have to get by admissions and most schools will only flex so much for athletes). However, young recruits often flatline (either by complacency or just maxing out) and coaches realize they made a mistake. It's why coaches hate early recruiting but are kind of stuck with it because families want to brag that Suzy got recruited as a freshman. Coaches have to grab the talent when they can but they'd love to have a more reasoned timetable. The new rules may help but they're insufficient - still a lot of loopholes to go around the NCAA
Players can back out of deals too. Nothing is official until Feb 1 NLI Day, and with D3 it's always all verbal since there's no scholarship $ involved.

This is the ECNL thread. All you jealous GDA parents go start your own thread. I am Sory your daughter couldn’t make an ECNL, NPL, FSPL team. At least GDA is going to allow HS this year so maybe you can get better training then. Oh, and have some fun too!

Agreeing with your own post isn't a good look especially since there are NPL and FSPL that can run rings around many ecnl teams.

The only accurate statement is that you are indeed... Sorry.
