The immediate result of GDA will be dilution. Then eventually the weaker ECNL league will fold and we will finally have strength. Can you imagine how good our top team could be if Oregon only had 1? Makes sense to be tied to Pro teams.

Not if it means our kids miss the high school experience. GDA will be D.O.A if it doesn't change its directive. It is a non starter.

Imagine how good the top teams of CA, TX, FL, etc could be if they had just one. It won't make our girls any better to be on one team. Recruitment is all about the individual. Changing OR soccer for the better requires changing & better developing our player pool & coaches. Moving around the existing pieces is nothing but a shell game, an illusion.

The new direction at CU looks promising

Those states you mention have a deep pool of talent, unlike Oregon. They can field up to 10 teams that are all excellent. Oregon can field maybe 1 team of Top players and due to the lack of talent here, this squad will be miles ahead of the rest of the state.

Keep Oregon diluted and irrelevant, vote Sanders!

GDA is a non starter. Super expensive. No high school. No other sports. Not geared towards college.

                    Not a good deal.

OR will reamain irrelevant until we develop more relevant players. Putting out true top 20 on a GDA or any single team makes a better team in the state but colleges recruit players not teams. The Oregon girls still have hundreds of girls from CA and elsewhere that are way better. What OR needs is better coaching and development. Moving all our best girls to one teams only makes a better team, the players are still the same mostly irrelevant players. Just a chance for more girls to claim they are "elite".

Reality, what is happening now with the extreme dilution on the Girls side of things and the notion that a league label is really something, when it's nothing. Has helped Oregon remain irrelevant and watered down.

With no program or club having the best players all together, it just keeps the cycle of mediocre talent with mediocre coaching with willing parents happy to pay for travel in the best league ever!!

Until a club can attract all the best players, more of the same ****ee...enjoy.

Why do you care so much about having this magical, mythical consolidated uber team in Oregon? What does it do? Please help, I don't get it.

Agree with you. The players are still the same, doesn't make those players any better all on one team. Some just don't get it.

Why do we have A teams? Why do we have B teams? Why do we have rec teams? It's best to let like talent play with each other. I thought this was obvious.

Right now we have some top players on CU, some on FC, a few on Thorns, and some that stay at club because not worth their time to play on diluted teams. The top players should want to play together and compete against the best rather than getting steamrolled. It's better for everyone.
