It's not like your deciding to hire a personal coach, fly to disenyworld or buy expensive cleats.

This was a club decision. Not yours.

The club is telling you how to spend your money. Having an opinion about a club decision is worthy of discussion otherwise you are just sheep.
Nope - a sheep would follow along blindly. A child would stomp his feet and say it's not fair and demand that the club Mommy and Daddy do what the child wants. An adolescent would complain to all their friends - including those on a forum - that it isn't fair. A narcissist would pontificate to the world how only their opinion is the correct one. A mature adult would make a choice to follow the club's direction or join a club whose direction they agree with. AND allow others to do the same without judging them or getting hell-bent on spending their days and nights, and weeks and now MONTHS fixated on an issue.

I am not sure why it is so difficult for you to separate the cost of your daughter vs. you going to watch her play. You know where the away games and showcases are held. Figure out your own cost estimates.

Follow your own advice and set a budget. ECNL may not be for you or you may have to make some cuts to make it work out.

Any good realtor will show you comparable properties and help you set the right expectations. You can't buy luxury homes for mobile home prices. If that were the case I am guessing you would not be in Gresham and playing for Eastside.
The fact that you have to bring up the Thorns in every discussion shows just how insecure you are with your choice and having your dd in ECNL. Plus the fact that you always have to throw in cheap shots along the way. If you want to talk about not being competitive, I can list about 6-7 of the ECNL teams who aren't competitive so going to their games might not be the best investment for parents. However, the bottom line is, parents just want to have ideas on the costs and what it might cost for them to go see games. This $3000 estimate that you throw out there good if a parent wants to travel out of town to a couple of destinations and drive to Seattle for a couple of weekends. If they want to see all of the out of town games, $5000 at least. And that's for one person. Take mom and dad and add in at least $2500.

Top universities factor academics, curricular activities, and sports when considering future students. There are so many talented soccer players out there, but if they have poor or average academic achievement and don't come from a reputable, challenging high school, then they won't even consider that player.
What is a crappy college to you?

Call me crazy, but that sounds like fun. Especially the longer trips to Dallas or Florida.

The reason why I throw out the Thorns example is because that is the closest comparison. In doing so you need to compare apples to apples. The next option would be to play on an OPL or OYSA team with no travel. Sorry if your feelings got hurt.

No feelings hurt and your comparison shows that you are very insecure. People aren't asking for comparisons, they are looking for actual costs, something that you can't comprehend. These lowball cost estimates for parent travel are laughable. And as to value, about 3 teams are getting it from ECNL as they are actually competing. The rest are not.

Go to a different club then.

We loved playing close to home in our club With friends.

The coaches said they our dd is too strong a player to play on the b team in the club.
So we have to drive miles away to play on a similar local club team that isnt mandated to travell all over the country.

Now at least a b team player at our old club can play games out of state since we left.

My DD played on a non-ECNL team that travelled quite a lot this past year. 4 trips to Seattle, 1 to Denver, 1 to Las Vegas, 1 to San Francisco. I travelled with her every time. Total cost for the year, fees, kit, shoes, balls, travel, everything included: $7,600. ECNL teams will travel less than this so expect the costs to be lower.

It's a comparison. It's naive or disingenuous to assume all parents travel to ECNL games. Few do. Most dont. That is the nature of a league where kids travel this much. Any and all prices from a club will focus on the player. Parents are above and beyond and it should be easy enough to calculate for families participating. Key there being families participating and not trolls from WST and other jealous coaches who's only objective is to attack.

No.... Top 10 D1. And the. If you're from Oregon and not top 5. The naysayers will always raise the bar and comply anyway.

Are you too stupid to figure out how to do your own parent travel estimate?

Not at all assface. Just like so many people ask what the cost of ECNL is, they can ask if the estimates are accurate. Now go beat your wife.
