WPFC calls themselves ecnl. They are on the accepted teams for this non-national level tournament. I don't believe they will finish ahead of, nor develop more college players than Crossfire or United who will also be there.

By "pass" I suspect you are referring to a "Timbers pass", ie. a long ball over the top to the fast forward. Yeah, they're not very good at that.
