Beware those who will try to sell you a $10000 experience at a cut rate of just $3600. You might just end up with the same experience you could have bought for $1500.

Whereas for 10,000 you get 1,500 worth of value. Unless your dd is really good, one of the top 15 of her age group, then she will derive 10,000 of value. The other 30 of you are just subsidizing it for the others.

Lame article written by a nobody. Did you read about the author? He never played soccer. He is a rec level coach with a laptop and an IP address.

If it's on the Internet, it must be true!

Funny, I thought the article had good points. Had some same points as below.

Choose by price. Go with the most expensive option. And the most promises. If they are guaranteeing a scholarship then go with that.

It looks like that truly is the way the sport is going. If your not on an ECNL team your chances of being looked at gets smaller. All the strong players who parents can afford it will go that route. There won't be enough players left afterwards to have strong non ECNL team unless you have one heck of a name that can attract players regardless. ECNL is the route for girls.

Strong girls. Meaning top players. If you are not, regardless of whether you can afford it or not it's a waste of time and money. Oregons numbers for ECNL girls going to college to play soccer will be far below the national ECNL average. Which by the way isn't 90%. It's more like 60%. ECNL is using flawed numbers.

Yes, but still higher then before ECNL was here.

You mean "numbers you don't agree with because you can't comprehend them"? I'm sure they didn't try to claim your DD who plays for Eastside's "B" team (does Eastside even have "A" teams??) and almost made her HS JV team.
