This makes no sense. The girls on the FC team also had their commitments prior to ECNL.

Exactly..... so all this talk about who has offers after a couple months of playing on either team is ludicrous.

What is missing from the conversation is the opportunities for either option.

Think about it. Go to a FWRL match or an ECNL tourney to scout someone? The coach will go to ECNL he can scout not only the girl that wanted him to take a look but multiple girls from a wide range of teams.

4th place out of six teams isn't a great start, but they should dominate in OYSA, unless they put themselves in the premier league. Can they? Don't they need to show they can complete or does OYSA just allow teams to place themselves?

All "Timbers" teams automatically get put in the top division, regardless of actual ability.

Looking at their competition, they should get some wins then. Things are lookin' up!

The teams they are playing were awful at FC Showcase. If they don't go 10-0 with a +50 GD, it's time to turn out the lights.

If being "seen" is so important to you then you can always be a Discovery player and participate in the ECNL showcases. There are plenty of not so good ECNL teams interested in adding Discovery players. Lets puts a **** load of money and hope and pray that our daughters are seen.

Good point. Why do that when you can spend a little less of a **** load of money and basically play OYSA winter league and send apps to tourneys you won't get accepted to.

Actually, you could spend $10,000 and play bad RCL teams in NWCL and last place ECNL teams. And struggle in both.

                          Who's struggling?

Sounds like Oregon soccer is simply horrible.

Pretty much. You can spend $3,600 for it, or $10,000.

The difference is one of them requires you to hang out in Medford, the other Florida, Arizona and Southern Cal.

At least we know competition or development isn't a priority. Can't say that ecnl is better competition or quality at this point. Looks like mass exodus is proving you wrong.
