Even Largo wouldn't merge with Celtic, I doubt they could find a merge partner

Although bigger in square miles and population, Los Angeles area harbors six ECNL teams. I know Miami should be due for one first, but why not eventually?

Why would TBU - Chargers want ECNL anyway? All they do is bash the league to their current players and parents telling them it's not worth it and they play on the top leagues? Or are you just lying to your players because you don't have the best interest in them?

This is good logic and maybe it can happen eventually. LA is approx 25 million people when you consider surrounding suburbs. Tampa is 4 million. LA is basically 6x bigger hence the 6 ECNL teams. Orlando metro is bigger then Tampa so why wouldn't they consider a second ECNL club there first? What about Portland Oregon? Portland has a great soccer culture and very good teams. What about clubs like Tophat, or Empire United or Brentwood soccer academy in Tennessee? That doesn't count the fact that Jacksonville doesn't have a club currently and neither does Miami area. Miami could probably support 2 ECNL clubs quite frankly. The bottom line is this…The ECNL growth is going to slow to a snails pace and the options where ECNL can land clubs are so vast that adding another club to the Tampa area would be low on their list IMO. It might be different if WFF was top in the conference and the merger club had the numbers and quality of play but those are all big ifs. As stated before, the choice in the Tampa Bay area for girls will likely come down to two decisions.
          1) ECNL or NON ECNL
          2) If ECNL OCYS or WFF, If non ECNL then choice between IMG or TBU/CLW merger club

            This is True

On a north/South access moving the location to Tampa would also make travel for the players that come from the South more difficult.
I know many of top girls in the area that Do Not want to drive to Brandon. Yes, there are some girls that are stuck where they live that do not have any quality teams, but Tampa has other options.

I don't doubt this. There are players at WFF that travel from Lakeland (40 minutes) Orlando (60 min), Fort Meyers (120 minutes), Naples (180 minutes), Bradenton (45 min), Tampa (30 minutes), Palm Harbor/Clearwater (60 minutes). Players that don't travel because of a 30 minute drive(15 minutes more then what they probably currently drive) are really not interested in playing ECNL. The big question is what is central to the largest number of players that would want access to ECNL and IMO if a player is really inclined to play ECNL then they will drive the extra 15 minutes(in the case of Tampa players) and the extra 30 minutes (in the case of the Palm harbor/clearwater players). Its actually a classic mentality of Tampa folks where they feel the center of the universe revolves around them. Move the fields to Tampa creating a longer drive for everyone else so they do not have to drive an extra 15 minutes on the crosstown expressway.

The Chargers DOCs believe that ECNL is a very good league and they have not encouraged their coaches to bash it. In fact, those DOCs have been overheard to say that (like the USSF Development Academy for talented male players) talented female players will increase their odds of playing college soccer by playing on an ECNL team.

Move the Tampa Bay Rays to the Tampa side on the bridge!!!! Who want to go to south pinellas anyways, it close to the celtic's fields I hear. Both have bad fields.

I also agree that ECNL is a great option for girls, but not the only option.

Compare the WFF and TBU U18G

Both have many major commits and both play in different leagues.

Good Luck to all if that is what you want!

Ther is way to much being made about
                          Ecnl.
This is one of the problems with soccer in the
                          USA these days
Can you imagine if England had only 2 teams
In a new league, do you really think they
Would be flying to Italy Germany Spain etc
                          To play regular season games?
We need to wake up and quit getting sold
On the fact that if my little Mia doesn't play
In this league she will never be able to go
                          To college
                          Wake up America!

Nothing would change really. There would still be one ECNL and DA team per age group(s) just as there is today. Travel would be the same. The second teams would play National League/SPL/R3PL(NPL) just as they do now.

But TBU is way superior to clearwater
