I mean our numbers don’t look good but I think Baker is smarter than the other Governors.
He said house parties are the issue not schools or sports.
Hoping he leaves kids alone and rebuild economy.

What’s the difference between shut down and paused?

Pause is only some businesses closed in RI like gyms and decreasing numbers allowed in stores and restaurants. Sports paused two weeks. Just so the predicted spike two weeks after Thanksgiving on Dec 12 is less of an impact. K-8 schools still open and daycares, some high schools hybrid some all remote... again that’s two weeks only.

A shutdown is longer and more businesses and schools closed anywhere from 2-6 weeks. It’s much harder on families and worse for the economy.

Baker is threatening a phase back to Phase 1, which isn’t a shut down or pause it’s a phase back to only leaving open the businesses that were open in phase 1 back in May/June. As for sports that will mean likely only team practices no games since that’s what were allowed in June and likely all outdoors. So get out your snow blowers for the fields.

CT sports shutdown is until mid January but its not a blanket shutdown like March. Governors have learned from the past and are trying to be more selective this round. Youth outdoor sports shouldn't be shutdown but sadly might. Indoors wasn't going to happen.

Our coach said there are rumors of shutdown being announced tomorrow. Spoke to an ECNL parent at a different club, same rumor is circulating there.

How is this possible when high school basketball and hockey are being allowed. Totally does not make any sense at all.

They could (probably will) go also. CT paused high school sports until mid January also, not just club

Fake news. Nothing being shut down and mass. Wide open.

Hockey programs are hearing that there will likely be a “pause”. HS winter sports can’t begin before Dec. 14, so would t be surprised if MA looks to shut down all youth sports during the next couple of weeks.

Similar to what I am hearing, assume a minimum 3 week pause on all sports activities, no matter it be club, adult, high school or youth.

Assume it will be announced either Tomorrow or Tuesday during Baker's 11:30 press conference slot.

Not happening. Baker knows closing gyms, indoor facilities and cancelled sports is not good for mental and physical health as well as our economy
He might be the Governor who cares the most about the economy

He wants to shut down Thanksgiving and you think he cares about gyms?

You can’t work on your mental and physical health when you are on a ventilator.

How much does kiddie youth soccer really contribute to the economy?

Closing gyms and bars makes way more public health sense then canceling outdoor sports or schools. I think CT's casinos are still open so you see where the priorities are - $$$ not kids
