Problem is most parents don't have a club when it comes to college soccer, or even assessing their own kids. Most clubs will be honest with families, some won't. Even when they are are honest families don't always listen. Those are usually the ones that end up the most angry - they waste time chasing after the unattainable then have to scramble for anything at all, usually below what they think they deserve. If they'd just taken the emotional hit early on the process wouldn't be so painful (because, face it, it's usually more a blow to the parent's ego than the player's).

Or maybe go to school for academics and try to walk on or play club soccer. I wouldn’t advise going to a bad fit school just to be able to play college soccer.

Plenty of schools offer both but if you weren’t offered do what you have to do.

Yeah, those private school 2021s who aren’t committed yet are likely not going to make the choice of going to a lower college just so they can play soccer. An academic d3 will be perfect unless they land a top academic d1. Unless they really want to veer off their path and go to any number of D1s, with low academics or no prestige. Suspect more of that crowd will go to a
NESCAC before even a P5 in the middle of nowhere. Not really how the country club set rolls.

Times are tough due to the pandemic

For '22s the Top Academic schools have already made their lists and are checking them twice right now. Those lists are smaller (player deferrals, financial pressures), and top recruits are already checked. Coaches would usually be on to '23s at this point. Your player should have received some feedback from her club re: where she stands with schools on her target list.

Every D1 in MA has already moved on to 23-24s already, good luck.

That's what I was thinking.A lot of offers already out to 2022s, a decent amount already accepted. Not sure who is still checking their list for 2022s, maybe a few, but very few. Recruiting classes will be on average, 4 players and those kids were likely ID'd a while ago.

This is simply not true. I’m a coach and I’m working on 2022’s.

Not true. Top players are done, top programs mostly done (most $ gone though). However, there's plenty of room left at lower level D1s.

I see what the confusion is. You must be talking about girls. I’m talking about boys. Still plenty happening for boys 22s.

No confusion bro. Boys are always later than girls, but lower level girls are NOT done.
