Ours tells us before tryouts that it will be 1 of 2 possible coaches. Most of the coaching is good so most seem happy with however it turns out. Besides, clubs can promise you anything and then change. It isn't always their fault since coaches leave or the club has more or less teams than originally planned. AGree with above - it you're worried

Originally posted by Unregistered View Posthow can parents make a educated decision on where to have their daughter tryout if clubs like FSA and OW do not post coaching assignments at a reasonable time. FSA tryouts are in two weeks, OW tryouts are in 4 weeks. knowing who the coach is very important in making the decision of what club you tryout at. just because the name of the club is FSA or OW doesnt mean you'll get a good coach!!!! at the younger ages you want a coach that will proritize developing your daughter over winning games at all costs.
The one thing that stood out during his speech was that if you wanted to see the progression of where your son will be is to look at the age groups above his age. Honestly, he was spot on and the boys side is run so well and (3) practices a week compared to (2) for the girls. Why?
Who knows but his boys side is running well and has for years.
If you used his phrase to compare the girls at FSA by looking ahead. It would make you question the word "development".
As the band Metallica would sing, "It's sad but true"!
So the coaching really doesn't matter.

You can have a coach bent on winning running the big, fast kids with no feet all day long and then stands the kids around in lines at every practice with very few touches. You can't learn to hit without tons of batting practice over very long periods of time and you can't learn to receive the ball, pass it, or strike it without tons of practice. Then you have to learn tactical at some point as well! The coach ABSOLUTELY matters!

Who plays that on an 0-5 team? Where is the development there?
When do we practice shooting, technical with a purpose, etc.
It's all smoke and mirrors.
So if you are U-little and you look up to the ECNL girls and their development. There is your answer.
Look who's nuts now, sir
Wake Up!
