This is not a legal matter. However it is very relevant for OYSA. Next year you will have every club in the metro area doing their own version of this earlier and earlier.

What's the issue? Afraid you're going to lose your best player to another club? Wake up, it was going to happen regardless. All Timbers clubs lose all of their best players at U14.

I think OYSA has to act. FCP is clearly trying to circumvent the rules in place to prevent this exact thing.

So the "reserve pool" is being picked now and will play in OYSA?

If OYSA allows this it will be a free for all next year. The rules are establish to create fairness. This clearly is a move to circumvent that.

Now, is FCP having open tryouts (i.e. anyone may sign up), or are they conducting intra-club tryouts to determine which current players play where? Clubs are free to move existing players between teams as much as they like...

OYSA does not govern ECNL tryouts. FCP and CU are conducting ECNL tryouts at this time.
Players that don't make the ECNL squads will need to tryout again for the OYSA teams.
End of story ... nothing more folks.

Or 3) his DD got cut after 15 minutes of the first ECNL tryout and he can't understand why - especially given how dominant she was in OYSA division 3!

Because none of the top clubs in the NW are applying so they won't have the Thorns Academy as the lone club - assuming they could even fake their resume enough to be considered.
