The traveling thing is a legacy from the brain trust that was the Columbia Timbers. Those two thought driving up to Seattle was better for the kids and families because it provided the *top completion* in the state.

The legacy is that Pacific and FCSC thought they needed to keep up with the competition because they were foundering. The result is these two clubs have teams traveling way, way up north to play......Classic/Select soccer!

All this expense to Clark County families due to two knuckleheads, one doesn't even live in country anymore.....the other, blown out of ***C.

The competition just across the river isn't as good as RCL one 80% of the time, but it's good enough for most of the time, and much easier on the pocketbook. Consider the end result of placing kids in D3/NAIA programs as their goal! Not a good ROI for the expense.

The Wash clubs should have focused keeping the teams local, and asking for support from the community to upgrade the facilities.........instead of adding 3K in expenses just to *travel* around the state to play.

The only teams that need to travel are High School boys in Washington, Oregon does not have a Fall League for them. Any other team, unless they are crushing it, should stay local and avoid travel. But you can still get Medford, Eugene, Bend in your league??

FCSC is going early and probably walking out to the parking lot to collect checks and wrap these kids up. Many will leave once they are accepted by Timbers or Pacific when they do their try-outs.

In the days of Columbia Timbers, playing in OYSA wasn't an option. OYSA wouldn't allow it. So Timbers teams played in the old PDL (forerunner to RCL) and then RCL. Clubs like Salmon Creek and Pacific (and it's forerunners) played in the old District 5 League, which no longer exists.

Because OYSA correctly recognized they weren't a real club.

All that premier money, and NOTHING to show for it.....amazing.

Snowing all those parents, while putting their kids up for years at fields like Peter S Ogden, in the same condition they were in since the late 70's. Real community guys fer' sure.

No one from OR is going to play for them anyways so what's all the worry?
              Who cares?
If you don't care, don't post. I will post on things I feel like posting on as well. Thanks.

Combine two years ago with Peter S Ogden train and "Chops" lame coaching you have poop on a stick.
They've come along ways since then

My point being that FCSC is a small club that appeals mostly to Clark County players/families that don't like the WA Timbers product. Much like Pacific FC.
Neither of these clubs represent a threat to Oregon clubs in the way of player movement. They cater to Clark County families.
It matters little if they have their tryouts prior to Oregon clubs. Nothing much to worry about here.

Confirmed that Timbers have accepted different tryout dates for WA clubs as long as they adhere to the WYS dates.

                      Yep.
Vantucky doesn't care as they are adding 6-7 teams to their income this coming year.

FCSC is too good for OYSA. That's why we need to travel all over Puget Sound.

I heard registration numbers are low. What were we thinking? Did we think that players from other local clubs would come to tryouts while they are still finishing their seasons?

                          I have a headache!

Really bad. Except for a few ages. But again they did kick-arounds and did not even inform their coaches of the days. Trying to be greedy and go early may have bit them in the butt.
