    Women's Team Complaint

    Here we go...

Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe and Becky Sauerbrunn filed an EEOC complaint on behalf of the full women's national team that accuses U.S. Soccer of wage discrimination in relation to the money the federation pays to the U.S. men’s national team. The complaint states that the USWNT is paid almost four times less than the USMNT, despite producing nearly $20 million in revenues for U.S. Soccer in 2015.

The women's team has had enough sustained success that they will blow past the mens team as to profitability. Their games generate a lot more viewers than the men. It is only fair that at a minimum they get paid the same.

Jill Ellis coached the team to the World Cup win and earns $300,000 per year.

Jurgen Klinsmann has been much less successful and earns $3,000,000 per year.

The Timbers Academy for boys pays for travel costs and most training costs.

        The Thorns Academy does not.

There is another BOLI complaint waiting to happen.

Clever of them to put the thumb screws on USSF now - Olympics coming up soon and if the WNT walks USSF looks like the fools that they are. It's been a top story today everywhere. Can't wait to see how they try to spin it. Even if legally the women had no case (although they very well may have a very good one) the women are the winners in the court of public opinion. If the federation plays hardball they come across as total dbags

Every girl in the country should refuse to do Gdap until the USWNT are paid at least as much as the underperforming men!

Are the Timber considered their employer?

No because they are NOT truly "Academy" players who sacrifice their player rights in exchange for free training. The boy's on the other hand are OWNED if they take the free training.

The women bring in more money in the US.

And they win without finding above average talent that can be sorta claimed as American. (I.e. my Mom slept with a Marine once in Munich she thinks), so maybe I'm American?

Close enough our boys aren't very good, here is your Jersey! USA!

I'm guessing that the women brought in a hair more money last year due to a fantastic run. What is it when you count every year? Just curious. I don't think you can assess without looking at the whole picture.

Team USA is very, very different then the rest of women's soccer. USA gets behind all things USA. And yes, the women's USA soccer is very good.

You tell us how many times the women have won the World Cup and the Gold Medal and then tell us how many times the men have won the World Cup and Gold Medal. That will give us a better idea of the whole picture.
