    Thorns Academy Dead?

Why doesn't anybody talk about Thorns Academy any more? It was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread. Probably because the parents of the rec players on the teams can't figure out how to work TS.

Too little too late. Will be tough to build up the Thorns Academy.

Especially once the scores start rolling in from FWRL. Double-digit losses to "B" teams might just kill the program once and for all.

Getting steam rolled hasn't killed Oregon ECNL teams yet. But you're right... probably only a matter of time.

You know it's rough when they had to offer u16 roster spots to U14 players... Ecnl got in the door first and is an established league...

Jesuit could beat all the ecnl teams.

Better to get beat by national level teams and learn how to play the game than to get steam rolled by "B" teams in FWRL while playing the standard lil' Timbers kick and chase.

                Jesuit is too young.

ECNL >>>>>>> Jesuit >>>>>>> Thorns Academy

Probably because the season has not started yet due to High School season. (same as ECNL)

There is not much talk about ECNL either except people arguing about real cost, parent travel, and whether a player would have gotten an offer from PSU or Concordia without ECNL.

Maybe the parents of rec players have better things to do with their time. Learning to work TS can be entertaining, but it is not really a "must have" skill set.

One guy in here responding to his own post. Seems to be Angry ECNL Poster. Come on Clark, live with it, she only got an offer to PSU. Sure it sucks after all that money spent. But live with it.

Good. I'm all for kids having options, but this wasn't a good or viable one. The will just rename ODP after it and meld the two together. It will drag suckers in at the younger ages due to being naive, but that's about it.

How is that much different than the bottom half girls signed up to play ECNL?

What is "pre ECNL" other than a marketing scam to get kids over.

It's a way for them to try to get a large pool of players to come over so they might be able to form a decent team by U14. However his won't happen at CU because it's a merger of teams from two clubs. Thus u14 will never have chemistry there.
