    Region IV ODP Championships

Way to represent Timbers ODP girls teams!

Every age group getting throttled except 2003's who beat that top level MT team 3-0. Probably the only win any Oregon team will get all week.

Sure glad the Timbers are improving soccer in Oregon!!!

Girl soccer parents are so stupid. Just worry about keeping them off the pole with men throwing money at them.

      Where is our 01 team?

Sad state of affairs, for sure. 5 GF and 18 GA after day 1. And Oregon couldn't even field a team in the 2001 age group. And those poor results are against similarly watered down ODP programs (although clearly not watered all the way down to the rec level like the Timbers/Thorns ODP program).

Last year most of the 2000 team quit after Phoenix. Parents realized ODP was a money grab, wasn't helping their players improve, and an expensive weekend getting pummeled in Phoenix was the final straw. That's why there's no 01 team this year. They sacrificed what would have been a passable 01 team (that made the finals last year in Phoenix) to reward the few 2000's who didn't quit last year. Most of the team down there are 01 players. Playing up is hard enough in Oregon. But playing up in odp championships? When the best players in Oregon aren't doing odp anymore? Genius, odp administrators. Parents on that mostly 01/a few 00's team would have been better off lighting their cash on fire, rather than spending it on this debacle.

Sounds like Oregon Ecnl teams. Using Ecnl Oregon logic.

Sounds like development right? Oregon Ecnl teams get handled day in and day out and they say it's good for them. Oh and they pay 10k a year. Oh odp parents should say that they are getting to college because cal north odp kids are. That's Oregon Ecnl logic.

Stupidest parents in the state it seems are the Oregon Ecnl parentsz

Usually goal differentials like that are reserved for the Oregon ECNL teams.

                Hmm.

Seems like Oregon is not a soccer powerhouse, at least not compared to states (and even cities) with several times the population of hereabouts.

And that this is true whether or not the league is ODP, USYSA, ECNL, or whatever. Occasionally an Oregon team will sneak through. More often than not, local teams get spanked at this level.

                Same as it ever was.

I've never seen an ECNL team (in Oregon or otherwise) lose 20-0. Seems like the parity in ECNL is at least better than ODP.

The bar is set pretty low at your house.

More spankings already this morning for the Oregon teams. That 2002 team seems to be especially bad. Isn't that the team with the Salem Superstar and the Gresham Gorilla?

The boys don't seem to be fairing too badly.

Why don't we have an 2001 team?

No, they have moved "up and on" to Thorns academy.

This is explained in earlier posts on the thread. Try reading before you post.

Same as it ever was. OR girls go to Regionals (odp or league) and don't fare well. Always been this way other than the few teams that manage to do decently every so many years. No surprise. Doesn't mean ODP girls, or Ecnl girls, or Thorns Academy girls should let it get them down. Enjoy their experience and the challenge of being the underdog.
