Seacoast= Decent soccer, faring quite well for a team w mostly 05s and 06s.
Nefc= Talented players, well coached, but poor team soccer.
Oakwood= Decent soccer, many 04s playing up, well coached.
Valeo= horrific soccer, untalented players, poorly coached but they manage to get results by booting it up the field.
GPS= Poor soccer, few good players, well coached, shouldn't be in DA.
Bolts= Talented Players, Talented team, well coached, inconsistent.
Seems like at least 75% of these kids will automatically be on a DAP team regardless of quality. :(

Revs, Seacoast & Bolts will probably carry 17-18 max when they go 11v11(though Revs seem to carry way more right now).
Seacoast isn't close so no one south of the Mass Pike will consider them.
Revs will have the most turnover but they will also steal players from outside DA.
The Bolts seem pretty deep already so they won't take that many new players.
That leaves a lot of kids on the outside looking in. That means malcontent parents poisoning the sidelines at Bayside, GPS, NEFC & Valeo next Fall.

There aren't any players that chose not
to play on a DAP team that are better than some that have?

Another thing is that many of these u12 teams have their top players play age appropriate; rather than up.
The Bolts have a player who is clearly good enough, and MORE than physically capable, of STARTING for their u13's. Why isn't he playing up?
The Rev affiliate clubs who only have Academy status up to U12 (GPS, NEFC, Valeo, Bayside) also keep many of their best players age appropriate. They do this because their club's u13 offering is not as good or competitive as u12 Academy.
