Timbers are embarrassed to publish schedules that show their Alliance clubs have almost no HS-aged girls teams anymore.

Your manager has them. She's been instructed not to release them until the OYSA honchos are on the airplane for their next soccer-parent-funded vacation.

It''s a need to know basis. You are obviously out of the loop.

Unfortunately, so is OYSA. They are a mess, as usual.

OYSA has nothing to do with kiddie schedules anymore, long ago they handed over their primary revenue source and league scheduling function to a company called Peregrine, who then outsourced it on the cheap to labor force of one person, for maximum net profits. Who cares about delays and efficiency. They have got you by the short hairs.

Yep. And this is what it means to be dealing with a youth soccer monopoly. So keep praying for ECNL to fail - because if they do, OYSA/Timbers/Thorns/Peregrine has a stranglehold on it all. And you think you pay high prices for bad customer service now? You have no idea how bad it will get.

Oddly, what they (peregrine) offer our elite youth players in the form of Academy Dev club is all paid for by them..unlike our local clubs who follow the pay to play model and ask for 10K for travel to games...kinda weird they rape the masses and cater to the elite class of player.

So if your kid is exceptional and worthy of being on development Academy team you don't have to worry about service they paid for you to be there.

But if you're like nearly all the kids at the local clubs you either have to Fork over money to them to be in their leagues and state cups or if you chooses not to be in their oysa sanctioned leagues and state cup .. then you have to Fork over thousands to play way above your weight in leagues with far superior teams.. it's really messed up.

Show us in writing where it says it's "all paid for." Go ahead, I'll wait. And don't forget - "all" includes travel.

Robbing Peter (every club in OYSA) to pay Paul . . . somehow alliance clubs are ok with this because Xfire and FC don't like it. Whatever those country clubs resist must be good - right?

                          Keep Portland weird.

Just ask any young men selected to play for Portland Timbers Development Academy squad at u16 or u18. Peregrine PAYS FOR ALL TRAVEL, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, LODGING Etc.

They are only asked to provide a $500 deposit.

I put it UPPERCASE since writing was not possible on this site.

Sorry, for your ignorance and demanding nature about something that is common knowledge for any MLS Development Academy Club program. Which the Timbers are.

Doing it for altruistic reasons or because MLS forces them + fans demand it?

Only reason Timbers have a low-cost (not free) boys academy is because the MLS mandates it. No mandate, no Timbers Academy. It's clear that the Timbers don't care about their academies as no Timbers Academy player has ever made the 1st team roster. In fact, Timbers are the absolute worst team in MLS for developing talent.
