Club soccer in Florida is a mess and Mike is completely disconnected from clubs individually and always has been. He's also not a good communicator and anyone that's been to one of his DOC meetings can obviously attest to that. There is no doubt that employing an experienced college coach or even an experienced club DOC from a major club would be a great step for FYSA and all the clubs within Florida. Our players are some of the best in the country and they are getting smothered in a state where there are no clubs working together and all at odds with each other mainly because Mike and FYSA do nothing to help and everything to hurt. In Mike's case I honestly feel that it's because he just doesn't have the ability to do it because he just isn't respected by club DOC's and experienced coaches.
This is a very valid point and it shouldn't be dismissed, we could do so much better in our state if FYSA would just have some balls and make a move to get an experienced coach in this position.

It really is amazing that FYSA hasn't posted his Bio to shut up all the critics. Does he seriously have no experience?

Rain man, can you give it a rest. It's obvious that you are on the outside looking in. There are a lot of things to complain about in youth sports but the performance of MS is not one of them. You're alone on this one.

And a U13 kid that doesn't make ODP or DA should not be discouraged because that kid, at 17 and 18 maybe a completely different player and visa versa.
That was not the point. I agree its not a failure but the comment was more generalized to the topic at hand. Blaming a coach for the player not having success. Not necessarily ODP.

The mods need to drop this nonsense thread.

Sorry Mike, but these are legitimate comments and questions. You are responsible for the development, or non development, of all our players within the state and have major input on competitive matters like state cup scheduling. ODP, and others. Your credibitlity and experience is important and necessary and there are many DOC's, coaches, players, and parents that deserve to know your qualifications. It's incredible that FYSA is withholding this and turning a blind eye to it.

They and most don't read TS. Call the FYSA headquarters if you need accurate information.

MS has been the State Director for 19 or more years. It seems the question is not whether he was qualified to be hired way back when, but whether the current leaders should fire him.

First, there are no current "leaders" they are all followers and that's the problem, the guy should have never been hired in the first place. He didn't have any qualifications then and still doesn't. FYSA is now run by soccer mommys and Strickler has them all convinced he knows soccer.

What do you expect to happen J-wad? Again, for the 1,000,000,000,000,000th time. Post your qualifications! Better yet, post what you think is wrong. It is the same rhetoric all of the time. Shouldn't have been hired...Doesn't know anything. Even though he is very well respected among his peers. You don't keep a job for that long if you are bad (with the exception of being a bad parent) like you.

Yea right, respected by his peers. What are you smoking? The guy can't speak without stuttering and sounding like a moron. He has no respect by anyone especially his peers.

And we are back to the way he speaks...Seriously? How about we offer up some faults in programs and why we are unable to land anyone on National teams, in colleges and even at the professional ranks because of the way the FYSA programs are run? Oh, wait, there are players from Florida that have gone on to play in college, professionally and on National teams? My bad! Yes, you're an a--wipe! Get a life and leave the guy alone! I can't believe he would spend as much time doing this if he had to deal with people like you.
