For GPS specific events, it comes to right around 100 practices/camps to those 52 games, so 2:1.

For hours actually on the pitch, it comes to 4:1 in favor of training to games.
So you don't count the 38 futsal games as competition events?

Is there a women's professional futsal league in the US?

Does your/her pediatrician approve of all this training? When she has a physical, do you tell the doctor that she plays soccer/futsal nearly every day?

Of course not. Their running the poor kid into the ground because they don't know how to say no to the club.

She played 52 outdoor games with GPS? That's with one team? So they made the finals of every tournament they played in?
Not unusual. From summer to end of year, my kid played 42 outdoor games on her team.
Her doctor is not fazed by this number. We live in soccer-crazed suburbs, so she is used to it and the injuries that come with this amount of playing. Like the doctor knows anything
            about soccer. The rube! :)

But the downside is that about half of the girls of her team got injured from overuse, ranging from serious, season ending to couple weeks off. Fortunately, my kid is quite
sturdy and got a sports PT to help her with soccer injury prevention.
But this is a lie that I tell myself. More she plays, greater the chance of injury.

Another downside of injury is weight gain. The girl who got injured stopped working out for 4 months and gained mucho weight. She was used to eating like an athlete, but didn't stop it when she got injured.

Would you rather punch JB, PB or AP?

Teams are formed at birth years 1998-2005 and train at a convenient central location. NPL and State Elite teams compete at the highest levels both regionally and nationally."

Looks like State Elite is a level below NPL, as the poster above mentioned. You can consider GPS NH as just another regional team, same as GPS Metro North, GPS Boston, etc., since there is only the one team in NH.
So where do the 105 Elite GPS boys teams fit into this pyramid? If NPL is the top and State Elite is the 2nd team is it possible to be an Elite team but still be a 5th or 6th team?

They fit at the base. That's where the money is in US soccer.
Sorry your lemonade stand is failing. #GPSEnvy

Encouraging people to pay $2600 to warehouse their kids at the bottom of a pyramid so you can make money is unbecoming. #GP$way

Nope. You're just showing true your true GPS colors now.

Other than GPS, where should a high school aged boy (U15-U18) with DAP / high-NPL level skills (but wants to play for their prep school / D1 high school), and a commitment to their studies, play soccer?

What club would you recommend in the general Boston area? What option is significantly better than GPS?

(please don't say Revs - commute to Foxboro and commitment to studies rules it out)
Why would a top soccer player want to play high school soccer?

Why do you think a strong student can't juggle academic and soccer commitments?

What do you think happens when they get to college?

Why would a top soccer player want to play high school soccer?

***Compete for his school, with his classmates, and build strong memories. Interestingly enough, it is important for many kids (and a mandatory part of the experience at many prep schools).
                                - Although not the #1 path for soccer, it does happen that top players choose to play HS / Prep Soccer (Jack Harrison, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu, Mac Steeves, to name a few that passed through MA).
                                - USSDA (with the 2012 ban on HS soccer) hasn't quite been the panacea for the USMNT or for US soccer in general. On the women's side, Mallory Pugh played HS Soccer while still competing for her club and Youth National teams. Didn't seem to hurt her much.

Why do you think a strong student can't juggle academic and soccer commitments?

*** They certainly can, but logistics can make that extremely difficult (e.g. commuting 4 days / week to Foxboro from - pick a location in Northern MA / New England)

What do you think happens when they get to college?

*** Schedules are built around team commitments, and additional academic support is provided to student athletes (and practices are on campus, not a 2-3 hour roundtrip commute)
