Is FSA really putting up 4 U18 teams?

For next year, their website shows an ECNL team, a Composite team, an NPL team and an FSACT team. If that is true, the prophecy has been fulfilled and the NPL team has become the C team and the State team is now a D team.

I know they have a lot of new fields but can this be true? There were only like 60 kids for tryouts. The math doesn't work.

60 kids. 4 teams. 15 kids per team. $$ bank!

Just because it's on the website doesn't mean it will happen. It's kind of like their Amazon Wish List. Anyone spending money on a U18 state team at FSA really should have their head examined. I can't see that team happening. Also, only a few clubs have U18 NPL teams; most other clubs end at U17. If players aren't going to play in college there's kind of no point. The composite team is a good place to put the ones who still want to play senior year or are younger trapped players with no team to play on.

ECNL has some composite events. Do either CFC or FSA send their composite team to Florida in December or do they just attend the GPS or similar up here in the frozen north in November. I suppose even NEWSS would be more interesting than Lancaster, Mass...

FSA's composting team gets at most one tournament, in MA. That's it. Nothing else. They pay full boat, though. Oh, and their coach will have an ECNL team, too, so will never be there for games. $$$$

So if your kid is on the FSA 01 NPL team and she hasn't been picked up by a college, she is SOL? Wow that sucks. You pay all that money and get to go to the GPS which your kid could do on the State team for $1000 less. Wow, wow, wow. What's the point? If you look at it that way even U17 NPL is a waste of time and money if FSA isn't going to bring the team to decent showcases. The U17 NPL team should be doing NEWSS, Jeff cup and PDA. The Massachusetts stuff is garb at that age...

If they can't get into those tournaments then they can't get in. Just because you're in a league that doesn't guarantee admittance (except league sanctioned events like ECNL and DA have). Plus this year FSA screwed the NPL teams - they bailed out of the FL ECNL event because of a little snow (all the CFC teams made it) so to pacify angry ECNL parents they dropped the NPL teams out teams out of Jeff cup and put in the ECNL teams. Then there's some NPL players who are better than some bottom of the roster ECNL players but the club would never risk parent blowback if they switched it up.

Problem is FSA knows those NPL players don't have a lot of options. By HS it's tough to crack rosters to begin with. Yes there's CFC NPL that maybe a few can make work. OW NPL is a sad affair now that they have GDA. Some NPL players will play in college but often times it might only be half a roster vs a full roster on a ECNL team. In other words, your chances are less overall now that NPL is a the #3 league - worse still if you're not a top player or with a poor performing team.

Has FSA posted the tryout results? That'll determine how many teams they field.

Its not like any of the current players (all superstars, BTW) that ave current accounts will lose a spot for next year.

Hey genious. Next season's rosters won't be posted until....next season. Clubs might make them public before theb but they won't show up on ECNL for quite some time.
