That’s the problem with Sunrise. They all think that nothing exists outside of their little south Florida experience. No one else can play soccer, all the other clubs suck, only their girls go to college to play, the sun rises and sets becisse of them. Perhaps they think they can walk on water too. Also- be interested to know what their gpa’s are. That’s important to college coaches as well. Don’t want to recruit someone who fails out or pulls the team gpa down.

Girls getting a scholarship to college have to have a great GPA because there are too many smart females that play soccer at that level! It is just that simple. The talent level being close to the same, so which player would you choose? One with a 2.5GPA or one with a 4.0GPA? If you want to play in college under scholarship then you had better have very good grades! College coaches have enough to worry about, so to think they will take a player that struggles with their grades at the high school level just will not happen. Most females with bad grades in high school just don't try hard enough to make better grades, period. What does that say about a potential college recruit to the coach? They just don't try hard enough in life for things they want. NEXT PLAYER PLEASE!

And what does it say about a college recruit that plays club at a very low physical, and competitive level of soccer compared to players that play club at the highest competitive level? They take the easy road. They are lazy. Don't like to work hard for things that really make a difference in life. OK, so maybe that was about the parents and not their players, but you know those apples do not fall far from the tree!

I agree and I should have prefaced my post as such. There are just too many smart players out there for a college coach to choose from so if everything is equal between two players other than one has a low GPA and the other has a high GPA...the higher gets the spot 100% of the time. Every Sunrise player playing against the weak competition that they play should look like Renaldo playing against the USA men's team! Unfortunately, reality steps in when those girls go to camps or play their scrimmage against the other college girls on their teams! They are like, "what the hec, that girl just knocked me down going for the ball!...Mom!!!"

All of these schools need water girls. Sunrise girls are not ready for the college game coming out of that REC club and weak competition. But don't worry, I have heard from some of the Sunrise alums that the water jugs are much lighter after the games!
