Does NYSC divide DA teams into A and B? Or do they have a pool?

Pool or Not pool
All the NYCFC Affiliate league teams are suppose to pool. We played NYSC and they pool in the fall, and then start to segment a stronger team in the spring.
After U-12, pooling is over.

1. Facilities
NYSC home campus is at Manhattanville college with two full size turf fields, one which is brand new, and a 90,000 square foot indoor facility with new turf and professional futsal courts.
Beachside rents fields all over the place, pays a lot for those fields and passes that cost off to the 'members' of the club.
What this equates to, is more practice time at NYSC. If something COSTS money, which everything does, the race is to compress that cost and pass that savings off to your members. Because NYSC owns their campus, they can have an additional day of practices at no additional cost.
Advantage NYSC
2. Coaching
Beachside has Mickey Kydes at the helm there, and he has been around a long time. MK knows the game as well as anyone, and the DA landscape. He is a good coach, and usually coaches the OLDEST ages. There is often 'confusion' why the strongest coach would coach the oldest age group given that they likely need less coaching than the younger kids, but that is the Beachside foot print.
NYSC has Christian Gonzales, on the US National U-14 boys coaching staff. He is a U13/U14 specialist, and coaches those younger ages.
Advantage = Even
3. Costs
They essentially cost the same, with a slightly higher price at Beachside. The difference is that NYSC offers more for that cost because of their ability to compress field costs.
Advantage = NYSC
4. DA Badges
Beachside, which began in 1994, has the full DA badge for the boys up to U-19/20
NYSC, which began in 2008, has the full DA badge up through U-17. They will get the older badge next year, making this discussion void. NYSC also has the full DA badge with girls, and is affiliated with the Sky Blue professional girls team.
Advange - short term Beachside on boys, NYSC advantage on girls
5. Training
This is subjective, but if you like Rondo, go to Beachside. If you like tactical training and on field direction, go to NYSC.
Advantage - subjective
6. Winter programming
Beachside believes in training at Omar's facility in sketch Bridgeport, its indoor turf with hockey walls around. The boys play against older girls in the winter, and they have 1 practice per week, 2 at most.
NYSC believes in futsal training, and will open their 90,000 sq foot indoor facility this coming winter at Manhattanville college. There will be a DA futsal league, and training is 3-4 times per week.
Advantage = NYSC
7. Coach interaction
Beachside believes in one 20 minute session with the coach each year. They don't want parents involved at all.
NYSC believes if you have something to say to the coach, say it. They want the boys to speak for themselves, but parents are welcome to interact with the coach at their will
Advantage = subjective
8. Partnerships and Affiliations
Beachside believes NYCFC takes from them and gives nothing back and so they attempt to block their players from being seen by NYCFC, which of course they can't really do. Other Clubs dislike them because they are rash, unbending, and Mickey rubs people the wrong way.
NYSC believes in a true partnership with NYCFC and promotes their players to reach those MLS LOCAL clubs. With a true partnership with NYCFC, and Sky Blue, NYSC is out to support their players.
Advantage = NYSC
Big picture, I believe NYSC is stronger, I have a natural bias but my bias exists for a reason. Beachside is the elder statesmen between the two, and NYSC is the 10 year new comer who is working HARD to deliver the soccer experience that merits the price tag.
This matters because BS would cram 6-7 teams on one field to avoid costly field fees. Was homeless for year but NYSC spent the money there was never someone the to trying to keep up with the Westport lifestyle by using the club as their personal piggy bank.
This worked for years prior to him jumping into DA all came to a head when he tired to double dip in for Mickey Kydes soccer Inc. and Micky Kydes soccer park dream. Raiding the operating budget from Nonprofit meant lower quality coaching and less training and field space/time. If done right there should have been a separate fund for large capital fund project for a field. No worries the the IRS will figure it out. ;).
BS Coaching philosophy
Is absolute loyalty, MK first then team. He teaches the coaches this and then they teach the players. Loyalty is a good personality trait to instill however it all can be abused by the wrong person(s) (see organized crime)
This may all sound silly but Hyper focus on wining and perception and reputation of "success" breeds a lack individual player development.
Short term investing VS long term investing it's a choice

When I told him that I brought MK up to speed on the issue - he nearly had a panic attack. He was freaking out and was afraid MK was going to call him that night. To MK's credit, he fixed the issue right away, but i find it amazing that this thing persisted for nearly the entire fall season simply because the coach was too scared to mention it to MK.

They have a small number of problem coaches that are ruining the club. Parents have complained but leadership has trained themselves to ignore parents. Its frustrating.

Interested if we feel the same about certain coaches because our coach is reason we’re leaving. We joined through another club we were with last year and thought coach was going to be someone else. Instead we got stuck with a loud mouth who never stops talking.
