They are asking nearly $1000.00 per team for a summer conditioning league. Unbelievable. And there is no CFC high school, which implies they are going to put up their CFC teams against high school squads, coached by parents.
There was another league, being put together by the former New Canaan coach, but they also were asking something like $120 per kid.
Meanwhile. over in New Haven County, the South Central District in the CJSA will again be running it's summer high school league. Probably the 12th to 15th year this has run. Players have to pay only the CJSA registration fee and insurance fee. Something like $10-15 per kid. Two games per week for a total of 8 games. Teams arrange game times/locations between them. Home team pays the ref.
The first two run by private entities. The last one run by a non-profit. Look at the cost difference for essentially the same offerings. Based on previous year's there will probably be something like 24 girls programs playing in this summer league this year and certainly as many boys programs playing in their summer league as well.
Too bad for those programs down in Fairfield County.

There’s no point person handling this at the CJSA?
The summer league my kids have done is partly chaotic and disorganized but they could care less. Cheap, fun, extra touches. All good.

There is a league consisting of Hall,Conard, Northwest, East Hartford, Windsor, and Rocky Hill that operates on its own over the Summer. Your Captains will have the info. Games are Tuesday nights I believe at Hall in West Hartford.

They call the referee assignor for the club, give him the schedule of games. The league administrator from the district has already set the schedule, home and aways,. Girls play Tuesdays/Thursdays. Boys play Mondays/Wednesdays. There are no makeups for weather, unless the two programs choose to do so. I think our boosters simply pay the ref sent to the game at halftime.
It's very casual and has worked great for our high school for more than a decade now.
There is no need to pay such high costs for summer conditioning type soccer. I know the boosters don't charge the kids more than $30.00 each and that covers CJSA registration/insurance, a shirt and the referee costs. We get a huge turnout for this from both our boys and girls programs.

Voila. Done.
