Exactly. High school is a terrible time in most kids lives. Bullying, mean people make your life miserable. If you have sports to take you away or online gaming you should do it. Otherwise it can lead to vodka addiction or worse.

Boy it sounds like you had a bad high school experience. That's too bad. For many kids it is a memorable experience for the good.

The idea is probably to break kids of the idea of soccer being for fun and reprogram them to think of it as a job that they have to constantly strive to get better at. It is not for fun anymore Toto. Time to get to work and crank out some soccer.

Agree. Sounds very cultish. Who dare anyone say what kids do in their own time except parents? Enjoy those ankle chains GDA players.

Are they trying to embarrass teams that lost a lot of players like Westside's 03's? Maybe I'm not in the know but I've never seen this done and it seems wrong or inappropriate.

The entire Timbers Alliance was built on shameless self promotion and self dealing. Why would the Thorns DA be any different?

Says a lot about fc Portland. When you struggle you will not play. Go figure they are notorious for not giving any rats about their players and spending all their time trying to recruit

Yes. I want a club that is top in the region and plays all players equally regardless of skill level, effort at practice, commitment to improving, coachability, or attitude.

You're probably one of those parents that demands participation trophies. Enjoy Mount Hood this summer. I hear every team medals.

This is false. Three are/were starters. What is sad is they are not that good.

High school activities are a slippery slope. They start playing for fun instead of to get better and nobody wins. At this point it should be approached more like a job. Put on your big girl pants, pack a sack lunch and get busy working.

No, but they will start to. Ecnl & regular clubs will continue to as well. Thorns will become one of the best pathways for players that want to go all in for US Soccer. US Soccer is the most elite sponsor you can get.
