Another rat is jumping off the sinking ship, as Graceliano Mosquera-Mena has accepted the DOC position at... Aloha United?

(A word to the folks at AUSC: His home country is spelled COLOMBIA. No U).

At least ADF still has Victor...

Absolutely no one in the coaching community would ever refer to Grace as a "rat". He is a highly respected coach and is still coaching at ADF in the 17/18 year. News Flash- most coaches have more than one job.

You are right most coaches have more htan 1 job, but not usually in more than 1 youth club. Most clubs would be pretty upset if they hire you as a DOC and your spending time helping another club.

To be clear, I'm not calling him a "rat" personally, merely employing the idiom of "rats jumping off a sinking ship". I've no quarrel with Grace.

But it is a bit unusual to be DOC of one club, while still holding a coaching position at a rival club. Perhaps AUSC and ADF don't consider each other rivals--AUSC's classic teams are mainly non-premier, and ADF only competes in premier, generally, but this is different than a youth club coach also having a job at the local high school, or a training gig on the side, or also working for the Timbers.

Merger in the works? Depending on how it was organized, might give ADF access to THPRD fields, and turn AUSC into a full-service club. Especially if NSC is going down the tubes, there might be lots of field availability in the Aloha area.

How would movement from SW Portland to Aloha affect current players?

There has been no announcement of a merger and kids at ADF come from all over the city.

with that in mind- "kis from all over the city'

Best place for them and their ilk is Pioneer Courthouse Square, with a hat for donations.

Which players-SW or Aloha, or both?

Would have to really raise registration fees, something to upset AUSC parents. Of course, a movement of ADF teams to AUSC rosters will bump AUSC players out.

I heard 'Top Hat Circus' want to hire their DOC as a lion tamer? They want the lion to jump over poles, do a triple twist and then sprint to catch the Zebra. They must have watched one of his practice sessions and been impressed.

Anyone know if ADF is FOR SURE going to be able to continue through the Fall? Keep hearing stuff, but mostly from known rabble rousers.

Much to the dislike of clubs like BSC and Westside, ADF will be alive and well in the fall. Home field of PCC Sylvania is looking beautiful and already a healthy number of newcomers signed up for tryouts.

ADF will not have the qualifications to be a club in OYSA. They do not meet the standards

They did just fine last year. Also just got Nationwide Insurance as a sponsor.

                                What standards are those?
