ECNL adds 6 top GAL clubs for 2021-22 season

MF is already a crap club. College coaches know not to pick up kids from MF because of sub standard coaching and lack of performance.

PF used to be decent but they are crap as well.

Looks like STA is the only club not sending U15/U16 teams to the GAL Florida showcase. Definitely moving to ECRL before all their players do.

Frankly, smart move for their customers. Why waste all that time and $$ and be away for one week miss school and then quarantine for 2 more weeks, all during a dead period in recruiting??? Who in their right mind would think going down to FL during a pandemic they think does not exist is a good idea. Can you imagine these clubs cant do crap for 14 days after they come back, no practices no games etc. Desperate move for any clubs that go. Give STA a lot of credit if they do not. Shows they have great leadership.

So existing teams would get worse and a new team would get better. How does that change the landscape besides MF getting worse and STA getting better? The # of top quality players is not unlimited.

For starters it would force both clubs to train better.

Perhaps you would be surprised how many quality players would be infused into the league that live in NNJ. There are many of us who are dispersed among teams in NNJ who 1. aren't willing to drop the rest of our lives in order to travel the distance to PDA, and 2. believe MFA isn't worth it, so we stay put.

If ECNL evaluated practices and game time coaching as part of their oversight MF and some of the PDA teams would be out.

PDA is bigger and has tremendous facilities, and great teams and MFA does a lot to maximize what they have, and the teams are solid if not very good. Both are just going to get stronger. PDA now has 3 ECNL teams and MFA is back to having a base at the Shore which they dominated before relocating to Denville. Do not be shocked when the next move the ECNL makes is to award MFA another ECRL and then ECNL.

The only thing these clubs maximize is the number of players on the team and the income they generate. The last 2 years have been a development and showcase disaster at both clubs.

Zero f*cks given. No showcases - that would typically comprise 40% of the fees. No attempt to play other local teams (unless within club). 2 training sessions a week - comprising of 50% scrimmage against bench players. Highway robbery!

NE conference is much more competitive than NA. But PDA Blue basically guarantees that they win the NA division in every age group by playing there.

PDA blue should be in the NE league- better competition.

PDA white should be playing against MF, Delco and Bucks.

Two more suggestions:

PDA Blue -> NE league (even though its the only league that's not playing)

Remaining North Atlantic League teams -> ECRL or even EDP Premier II

ECNL will be relentless in its quest to put GA out of commission bad payback for what the USSDA tried to do to ECNL. Only a matter of time as top clubs are jumping ship by the week.

It certainly feels this way. Every week it's another announcement.
