What GPS should do is come in and buy several under performing CT clubs and roll them up

    Sporting
    Shoreline
    Rush
    BS
    Yankee

Splash some of that cash and put some of these clubs out of their misery
one of these is not like the other

Bigger isn't always better. GPS in other states is not very good, certainly very inconsistent. Rush is a multi-state club also. It's like a franchise - much of it depends on the quality of local management and how much control upper management has over the product.

None of those clubs own their own facilities. All they'd be doing is guying weak brand names.

They wouldn't be buying brand name. They would be acquiring scale and cheaply. It would be making a bigger splash than some RI outpost

They'd be buying a group of misfit clubs with so so coaching and talent.

GPS is the largest soccer club in the U.S. Moving into Westerley solidifies their position in Rhode Island and creates a fantastic launching pad into CT. Sour East CT has been dominated by SSC for many years. They now have to compete with Rush and Doca in a very tight marketplace. The entrance of GPS makes things even tighter. GPS will be competing full time in CT in the next 12 months.

Doca is the weakest club in the area. I would look to them as the easiest takeover opportunity. Doca may even be better off as GPS. I can't imagine SSC wanting to become a GPS entity. Rush could possibly flip colors. They are one branch in a statewide organization.

Situated in Westerly isn’t going to attract northern RI players. There is already a GPS RI South so partnering with Westerly only going to give them a local partner with fields to work with. They originally have a partnership with South County YSA but SCYSA dumped GPS and went with NEFC. It will be a battle between NEFC and GPS for Southern RI and parts of SE CT.

How do you buy underperforming clubs? Dont you just set up shop one day and take all their players. can do this to BS though as they might have something you need to buy.

If you want to go big in multiples areas of Connecticut you have to buy market share. Not a lot of money mind you as most of those clubs don't have a lot tangible assets.

If you want to go slow you set up shop and take the players

Unless you're buying a club with a facility you're not buying much of anything. A name and reputation. Players and employees can leave once contracts are fulfilled.
