The AAC has crushed UConn. The are better off in the Big East or even the A10.

Schools, particularly one that have been sanctioned by the NCAA for compliance in the past have to take a hard line. From the article it seems the program was fault wrong and possibly desperate attempts were made to recruit. Tough finish for him but he likely saw it coming.

Why would the Big East want UConn back? They put 6 teams in the NCAA tournament and have 2 #1 seeds. What does UConn bring to the league? There's no more nostalgia about old rivalries. That left with Syracuse.

Big East is a basketball conference and brings nothing to the table for Uconn. Universities need to get into a power 5 conference and get football money to fund athletic departments. The Big East brings nothing in compared to the revenue sharing of Power 5, specifically SEC, ACC and Big 10. They are handing out $25 million per year to conference members. There's a very large gap between the have and have nots in college athletics.
