Huge announcement coming soon that involves Clay, JFC, PDA, and Ponte Vedra with the Developmental Academy and boys program in Northeast Florida. You will want to be trying out for one of those clubs next week to be involved.

So which club is it? Those clubs are spread all around town. What is the scoop? Why would Ponte Vedra be involved. There is nothing there.

Academy teams under Armada with those clubs pushing their best players to train & play a DA schedule. Allows for build towards full academy in the next year or two. Supposed to be announced very soon. It should be great if true!

I don't believe it was said that it would be a DA schedule which would be impossible if players on other teams. But play in some DA showcases and friendlies is how I understood it. Regardless this is at the direction of U.S. Soccer as a step toward full DA. It would involve a pool of u16 and u18 players from these clubs.

It will not be a full DA schedule but they will be playing Florida DA teams throughout the year. They will also be going to the top showcases during the year. It will be a pool of 18-22 of the top players from the U15-U18 age groups. Players can be added or dropped throughout the year to make it the most competitive team every game. It will go by birth year though and they will be pooled from the four clubs. The four boys directors of those clubs will each have an age group and there will be assistant coaches assigned from those clubs as well. If you are one of the best boys from U15-U18, you need to be trying out at Clay, JFC, PDA, or PV to be considered in the pool of players for the DA games and showcases. Training will take place on Friday nights and it will rotate from the four clubs each week.

Love it. Now that's coming together as a soccer community for the good of our kids.

              Perfect

Now the JFC DA team can average more than 1 goal a game and not get smoked while traveling all around the state. Then you can take credit for your great idea and tell everyone how great JFC is and how stupid everyone else is for not participating.

Your shortsighted, narrow minded, us against them mentality is exactly the problem, and the reason the DA program has struggled. Stop thinking of it as the JFC DA program, and look at what it truly is, the Jacksonville DA program. It's success, or failure for that matter, does not solely rest in the hands of JFC. It is dependent, however, on the entire N FL soccer community to get behind it for the sake of the kids. JFC just happens to be the club it was awarded to locally. It's not JFC's fault that someone else didn't get it, and just like the rest of the country, it only gets awarded to one club, not multiple club alliances.
If DA is taken away from JFC it will not come back to N FL for a long, long time. What you folks refuse to realize is that if JFC DA is taken away it will not be seen as a JFC failure in the eyes of DA. It will be seen as a failure of the Jacksonville soccer community as a whole.

Jacksonville deserves to have the DA program for the elite boys of N FL. Support it, or lose it!

Then give credit where credit is deserved. Have all the local clubs put on their website they are proud partners of Armada and they support DA. If JFC gets a few elite players from the other clubs support it then it should feel it is serving the soccer elite boys in the greater community. We are all over the JFC Attitude that you are either with us or against us and we will lose DA without you, but it's ours and you are losers if you believe your fake clubs,
and we want to take your elite and save them from your clubs lies. JFC, be a team player in Jax and your programs will be respected more.

Well spoken...Jacksonville doesn't have the population to compete in the DA unless a partnership like this comes together. My son plays on the current DA team that has had a terrible year. I've seen the other 2000's and 2001's in the area and there are definitely 5-7 boys in our market that would have made a tremendous difference this year in our ability to compete. Why didn't they come? Who knows, but I hope it wasn't because they listened to some DOC telling them that playing in the DA wasn't the best thing for them.

This is what playing on one of the worst DA teams in the country has done for my son:

                    1. He is now invited to nearly every US Soccer Training Center in Florida and has a good chance of being invited to a USYNT camp in the next 6 mos.
                    2. We have 3 different MLS academies offering him a full residential scholarship to come play for them.

I don't write that to brag on him but I can tell you without a doubt that these things would NEVER be happening if he was playing at any other non-DA club in the area. There have been many times this year that I've doubted whether it was worth it as they lost another game by 5+ goals. It has been really tough on him but overall it's the best thing for top level players in the area.

The world has changed in youth soccer. If you are a boy of DA age and you aren't playing DA...I hate to break it to you but you're just playing a very expensive brand of REC soccer.

Thanks for pointing out we are all failures again. I am sure you used to play at Ponte Vedra before JFC and you were the best then too.

truth- lots of PV jerseys out at the camp
Bubb may need to hire more coaches and open a 4th team at the South and Central campuses.

How is it that each club would take an age group? There are only two DA age groups in these ages (u16 and u18). DA is a two-year age group. Most likely the u16 pool would come from mostly clay players and the u18 from mostly JFC players and it would be mostly the older boys in each pool that play. It will definitely be a great experience for all involved. My son is on current DA team and has learned and grown so much from this year (both in technical and tactical skills but also has strengthened his character, will, and fortitude.)He will age out this year but I hope he gets a chance again.
