If they wanted BU to merge they would have told them to do it before accepting them into the league. They accept it them for what they have done and as much as you want to waste your sad life bashing them, it is proven that in the last 4 years they have developed very good players and the only thing brewing is that they have been working on getting fields in the area.
Actually BU's "home" games will be played in Orlando, so Logger's Run is not an option, so kind of the same thing as just belonging to OCYS

Richmond, va (may 15, 2015): The elite clubs national league is proud to announce the addition of three new member clubs for the 2015-2016 season. The three new clubs accepted for the 2015-2016 season are:

Tophat soccer club, based in atlanta, ga
jacksonville fc, based in jacksonville, fl
boca united, based in boca raton, fl
“the ecnl has desired to enter the florida market with a larger presence for several years, andstrengthen our presence in the southeast," said commissioner sarah kate noftsinger. " the two new florida clubs will be great representatives for the league in 2 new geographic markets, and tophat will add great teams and players into the southeast conference.”

the ecnl has a rolling admissions process for new clubs, and all existing club memberships are evaluated every year. Membership is offered to new clubs based on multiple factors, including the player pool size and quality, competitive history, technical leadership, history of player development, the region, conference structure, and more.

“with these additions, the league now has a presence in every major soccer market in the country and a complete national footprint,” said president christian lavers. “the changes made by ecnl clubs over the past 6 years in improving their developmental environment have been powerful. We expect this improvement to continue, and the same type of exciting progress in these new markets.”

every ecnl club competes in the u-14 through u-18 age groups in regular season conference-based competition as well as ecnl national events. Detailed information regarding the 2015-2016 ecnl schedule, and the ecnl national events for 2015-2016, will be provided in the coming weeks. In addition to the competition platform, the ecnl partners with us club soccer’s id2 program to offer player identification and development opportunities for top players, as well as offering coaching development seminars for staff of the member clubs.

"boca united is honored to be the first club in south florida chosen for inclusion in this prestigious league. The ecnl represents a tremendous platform that fosters development of players and coaches alike. It allows players to compete at the highest level, in a professional environment and provides competition against elite talent on a weekly basis.” - mark chung, director of coaching, boca united

"jacksonville fc is honored to be part of ecnl and are equally excited to offer female athletes throughout our community an opportunity to showcase their talent against the very best.” - eric dade, executive director, jacksonville fc

"tophat soccer club is honored to be invited for membership in the ecnl. We are looking forward to competing in the best female soccer league in the country and being a part of an organization that puts the needs of the elite female soccer player first.” -troy garner, director of coaching, tophat sc

Nope, the Idiot horrible problem to have is that BU fields are so sparse and crappy that their Home games are being played in Orlando for the next 2-3 years.
            Read the fine print people.
But hey, you know what? BU got what they begged for and made promises to the devil for to get. Let the crazy soccer parent caravan begin. Cannot wait to see pics of the line of cars driving out to Mosquito Lagoon aka Loggers to tryout and practice.

OCYS coach called it earlier today and explained it perfectly below. This makes total sense. A lot of clubs would have to take a big chance because they all have something to lose. EE had nothing to lose. And now he just jacked up everyone's club fees to about 1,500, you'll see. That's another $400 plus per kid right into his pocket. No increase in expenses, same crappy coaches, same crappy fields. So it all goes into the Eich back pocket. Unless there's a payoff to ECNL prez, don't be surprised. That's the only thing that makes much sense.

                          Default Ecnl decision forthcoming
I am so tired of reading pages and pages about BU and speculation about when the ECNL teams will be announced and how they decided on BOca United for S. fla. I will give you the absolute straight facts whether you want to believe it or not these are the facts. Our club is ECNL in Fl (so now you know I'm on staff at one of two clubs.) ECNL board members met with a handful of clubs a couple weeks ago in Tampa that they had at one time or another had considered becoming an ECNL club. The main clubs the ECNL BOD met with were TBU, FKK, Jax, Ponte Vedre, Boca U, Team Boca, & Weston. Jax was the immediate choice to add from N Fl, period, end of discussion. Tophat from GA will also join that areas addition. As far as S Fl, Sunrise did not have any representation, period. ECNL was told they were waiting to determine whether there was a potential partnership with other clubs possible since they did not have the facilities necessary. The was some subsequent discussion that Team Boca may form a partnership with Sunrise but never came to pass for whatever reason. Team Boca had previously stated to ECNL board that they were interested in a discussion but felt their club ultimately wouldn't be the right fit. Further discussion proved to be exactly the case. Team Boca ultimately did not want to displace their local players with players from what potentially could be a hundred plus miles. TB also did not want to encourage (or force) players to give up high school soccer which is coming down the pike. And the main reason TB wasn't the right fit was because they would ultimately have to hire a completely new staff because all their u15-u18 coaches are current college coaches which would put them in NCAA violation of coaching or training players who live outside a certain mile radius of their campus. TB was not prepared to adhere to all of the required ECNL policies. PLUS TB didn't want to consider a merger of clubs which could have made it possible for them to work around all of the issues that I've stated. Weston was also a club that had serious consideration since they have shown not only are they a larger club with a history of success, but they didn't have college coaches on staff that would pose a conflict and they have national team coaches aboard and in place. They also have a Boys DA. But, at the end the doc of Boca United made a compelling presentation that they would follow any and all EXNL rules, policies, and directives set forth by the league. They would take all players no matter how far they come from and whether or not those players displace all their existing players or not (which is a key factor and requirement in club selection). Plus the BU representatives at the meeting made a strong and compelling argument that if ECNL wants a southern area of fl club to succeed they should only select one club and not two. ECNL execs ultimately agreed, which left Weston out of the mix. So the bottom line is that out of all the clubs that everyone would expect to be in consideration it really came down to BU & Weston and at the end of it all it came down what many believe to be BU because the BU DOC's are very close friends with key decision makers on the board. Believe me it is a fact, that many, many ECNL coaches and clubs are up in arms over the selection of BU because it lowers the standards that ECNL clubs and the BOD have tried very hard to keep at the highest level. ECNL board members have received numerous calls complaining about BU being selected because of their lack of developmental success. All the comments written over the pages of pages on these threads everyone knows to be true, there no denying it. BU has never had one real successful team so an argument that they develop players is unfounded. Many ECNL clubs and staff, including ours, is extremely worried about the future of ECNL if decisions like this continue to be made. But if ultimately there were only two real clubs in south Florida who really wanted it and were actually considered then these type of bad decisions will happen. More of the better and larger S Fl clubs who would accept the ECNL rules should have gotten together and made a compelling argument why their club or clubs should have been selected. If that happened then you wouldn't all be on here moaning and complaining about BU being selected. I personally wish BU success because as a league we are dependent on other clubs being competitive but I'm not very confident to say the least. So trust me, new ECNL CLUBS BEING ANNOUNCED VERY SOON ARE JAX, BU, AND TOPHAT. Whether we all like it or not!

Ummmm, better to say Orlando! Players would rather travel than play at the west Boca Raton fields you have listed. They are horrid.

Tb parents are such losers, is amazing. One day they are calling ecnl, telling them, they should be considered for ecnl and when they do not get at least an invitation to present their case for deserving ecnl then they wamt to lie about not wanting it anymore and yes neither tb or sunrise received an invitation to be considered for ecnl and that is why they made a poor attempt to form a partnership which still did not work out. That's the truth.
