They should take NEFC and boot Scorpions.

Sure it's good for the consumer in terms of choices, but the proliferation of leagues and games isn't helping players. It's all watered down.

NYSC and STA are good programs. They lose credibility with Cedar Stars and LISC, though. GA not a bad league, needs a bit of time. Wont be ECNL but for many kids it is the best choice they can make due to geography. NPL used to be a really good league and many of you may not realize it but ECNL isnt all that old of a league. These things come and go.

Maybe but less than people make out and in any case I don't think it matters. If you're a top player you know where you should go if you can. And for everyone else the watered down thing doesn't really make much difference as long as you can find a good team to play on in a league at your level. And I think most people can find that in the current, admittedly imperfect, system.

you lost all credibility saying NYSC is a good program - unless you just want GAL to be the old NPL then sure, fine, NYSC is fine for a distant #2 league.

My 07 daughter played them a number of times over the past few years and they were a pretty good team but admittedly that is just one age group for girls. On the boys side they were very good in DA.

Based on fall results, NYSC u19s will challenge any team in the Northeast. Have they played SUSA?

The fall was a mess with not all players playing club and very few games.

How is it watered down? How is any of it watered down?

There are enough kids who want to play that requires X amount of teams for them to. No matter what league or club it is, they still would like a team to play on. Who/where/why individual families choose clubs, commitment, and expense to do so is really up to them.

What is your suggestion? Demand those who don't fit a certain criteria just not play? Stick to town rec? da fuq do you care?

exactly. Some decent, some warts, all new. People want to hang a league started 10 months ago in the middle most serious health crisis to this earth since the dawn of time (hyperbole added for effect).

If the GA is a good league why are all the GA clubs desperately trying to get into ECNL?

There’s no club players who didn’t play in the fall. The spring is looking weird because many top players are opting to go to college early and forego their final club season.

Cedar Stars and LISC are a major drag on the league. But some of the other clubs added, Delaware, Ukranian, Baltimore Armour are not great top to bottom either. They basically have 1 competitive team across the various age groups. The strong clubs like FCV, TopHat etc cannot carry the league and will eventually bolt.

Top Hat wants out so bad they started a petition! If Top Hat goes, along with FCV, who is GA’s marquee club? NEFC?
