I’m with you. That’s too many for a solid mix of development and performance. Part of being a team is understanding tendencies of your teammates and making quick decisions based on them. What would happen if we created a club with only 16? Just enough to rest wing backs and midfield. Wouldn’t that be worth paying a premium for? Feels like someone in CT should create a club based on these principles.

Without knowing what the coaches are paid it’s impossible to pinpoint it exactly, not to mention every team/club does different things with regards to training. Some split a field into quarters. Some use gyms in the winter. Some go once a week in the winter. Some go three times. The bigger and better the club, the more they do and the higher the cost. I’m also certain the club isn’t going to do it out of the goodness of their heart. I’m sure they make a profit. As they should.

As for roster size? They're all businesses. Don't sign up for teams like that unless your kid is a starter and you're getting something out of it (coaching, league platform, exposure etc)
