Not sure if this is serious or not. But ODP, despite its name, is not a path to the YNT anymore.

Take it for what it is, a second team for your kid to play on. At 11,12,13 years old, training is very important for development. Whether you pay for outside classes or the odp, your still paying. At least with the ODP the kids are learning as a team and get to play some games.

Unless you’re not getting minutes on your team, any training other than odp is much better than odp.

Yes BUT training alone isn't getting little Sue noticed. If you lined up a top player from each ECNL, GA and USYS team could you really tell the difference if they all played together? You MIGHT be able to notice who is better but you would be surprised by the team and league they play for. ODP pads the college resume just like ID2, YNT Talent ID, 1st/2nd team conference/state awards and championships like state cup, HS, or anything else.

Out of all the things you mentioned- odp is probably the lowest on the totem pole of resume padding. Right next to winning a state cup.

They are fielding 3, evenly split teams in terms of talent because of covid. The thought was that they would be able to train and play each other if a lot of their out of state travel was restricted. They're trying to run a program to help the kids and parents interested in participating.

It depends on the age group, and it's hard to split kids after seeing them for a few hours.

Could be coach not being prepared. Ds had 0 plan for the day and had them line up as fwd, mid, def and goalie to pick players. 5min before the game he finds he somehow doesn't have enough defenders and starts moving girls at random. Sometimes just having a plan came make all the difference.
