HS soccer, Club soccer, College soccer. the game reflects the way its taught and the culture it represents. The game is played to win, coaches use the players they are given the best they can. Its a sport, athleticism is a big part of it.

Which is fine, just change the stupid college and hs sub rules. Show the athleticism over 90 minutes.

We all want change in this world but adults continue to set bad examples by constantly bashing clubs, teammates and coaches.
If you are concerned with the price of these teams why don't you take your own advice and take your kid to a town team where one of the dad is the coach? The minimum you can get away with charging for a 3 practice a week and 10 months out of the year with a small roster is about 3.5k. You want a professional coach not part time and they have to have good support, training and programs so they can continue learning. Turf fields are expensive if you are not a town program and indoor facilities are even more expensive. It adds up quickly.

Why? What does that achieve? The system is exactly how the majority want it. More play, more $$ for Clubs. More Football scholarships. Still winning WCs so the need for "better" players not evident yet in results. Perfect.

3.5K? Funny. There are clubs that offer 3x a week for around 2K. #StopDrinkingKoolaid

And professional? Do you know what that means? Coach must actually be certified with proper licensing and experience. There are only a few around and it's def not MF.

Why change sub rule and not roster size limits?

Just because they have more practices doesn't mean they are better. A good trainer with 2 days can do more then a sloppy one with 4.

Totally agree on the training quality vs quantity, we were at a GA club and just because the training was 4x did not mean that much. Lots of players missing on a regular basis and the pace and intensity of the sessions could have been better. Sometimes felt like coach was going through the motions. So while you think you’re getting better training 4x / week that just may not be the case.

Honestly, if you have a group of kids that are all at different skill levels, different dedication levels, etc, it doesn't matter how many practices a week you do. As the saying goes, your only as good as the weakest link. I've seen coaches just go through the motions because they realize no matter how hard they try, you have what you have. If the majority of the team isn't fully dedicated to soccer, it makes it hard to motivate them to want to advance....
